Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The main purpose of the project was mobility of staff and students in order to acquire abilities and competence related to the field of studies, and in case of staff members, consistent with the direction of their scientific and educational development, as well as improvement of language skills for the entire group participating in the mobility. The agreement covered 71 student exchanges for studies and training and 6 University staff exchanges. The execution of the project commenced with its promotion and presentation of the opportunities granted by Erasmus+ Program for students, graduates and university staff. The promotion was done on regular basis on the website (www.ump.edu.pl) and by way of individual consultations, during which both the students and staff members had an opportunity to get familiar with the program. A briefing attended by 103 persons was held on 25.01.2015. The meeting was combined with the commencement of students' recruitment. All recruitment rules have been specified in Erasmus+ Program Exchange Rules which are available at the University's website (http://www.ump.edu.pl/index.php?strona=52_1791_1389340859&department=52&am=0). Staff recruitment commenced at the beginning of the academic year, and its rules have also been provided in the Rules. As regards students, there were 3 recruitment deadlines set, and as regards staff, all available spots were distributed during 1st recruitment procedure. Within the program we sent 46 students to study at partner universities abroad. The average duration of studies abroad was nearly 6 months. 25 students, including 1 graduate, were in student training abroad. Unfortunately, 2 training exchanges have not come off for students' personal reasons. The training lasted 2 months each. Due to the specificity of medical studies, 2-months long training seems to be the most optimal period. Most training exchanges covered the elements of one-month training obligatory for each student, and the other month was treated as an optional element, which will be reflected on the supplement to the diploma. 5 Erasmus+ students experiencing more difficult financial situation were granted support under PO WER Program. Arrangement of all exchanges and preparation of the agreement were subject to thorough analysis in agreement with an appropriate faculty coordinator. An important element was the optimization of the length of stay abroad, which consisted in precise development of studies and training program to completely achieve educational goals and acquire skills required according to the respective curricula. The duration of stay abroad also covered the period required to proceed to exams and credits. Students stayed at partner institutions during the period in which they were provided with educational and practical classes. The largest group of exchange students included medicine students, other less numerous groups comprised of pharmacy, physiotherapy, stomatology and biotechnology students. They were mainly the students of second-degree studies. All of them completed their scheduled curricula and training, and had their achievements at the partner institution recognised. The exchange students with competence in German, English and Spanish outnumbered the ones speaking French, Italian and Portuguese. As regards the gender, 50 women and 21 men participated in the mobility exchange. Our University hosted 62 students from partner universities, including 53 studying persons and 9 persons in training. The largest group comprised of the Spanish (22), Italians (13), French (9), Portuguese (6), Turkish (4) and 2 representatives of Germany, Croatia and Hungary and 1 representative of both Bulgaria and Latvia. The entire educational and practical course was carried out in English. All students completed the planned curriculum and training. The results achieved and abilities acquired have been confirmed by ECTS points awarded and recorded in the Transcript of Records. 6 scholars participated in research training covered by the program during which they were improving their skills that would enable their further development, both within scientific and educational scope. During the training they also established personal contacts which are likely to result in entering into closer cooperation. We hosted 3 teachers (2 Germans and 1 Turkish) who gave classes to students and 1 administration worker from Hungary, who underwent training at the International Cooperation Department. The established contacts and exchange of experiences allowed planning further mobility in the future. Our University followed up the course of the program and was addressing all needs reported by the students and staff on regular basis, and therefore nearly all mobilities have been completed in full. The experience gained from cooperation with foreign institutions and their representatives gave our actions a European character and international dimension.
