Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Erasmus+ programme is essential for mobility activities at the University of Borås (UB) and is a sustainable part of UB's international strategy. UB has participated in the programme for many years and through the programme established and developed strong long-term partnerships with universities within Europe. The programme provides students from UB with the possibility to study and to gain work experiences abroad and prepares our students to live and work in a globalized world. Within the Erasmus project call 2014, 44 students have completed Erasmus traineeships and 81 students have studied abroad. The most popular destinations for traineeships were Germany and the United Kingdom. More than half of UB’s students choose work placements in these countries. The average length of a traineeship was 4 months and 4 days. The most popular destination country for students that studied abroad was France, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany. The average length of stay for study mobility was 3 months and 29 days. UB's top partners for student mobility were Institut Etudes Economiques Commerciale in France, the University of Manchester and Hochschule Niederrhein in Germany. The programme also provides opportunity for staff exchange, for teachers and administrative staff. During the project call 2014 we had 12 participants for teaching exchange and 10 participants for staff training. The three most popular destinations for staff training were the United Kingdom, Norway and Germany. The average duration of a staff mobility period was 5 days. The four most popular destinations for staff on teaching assignments were Turkey, the United Kingdom, Spain and France. UB's teachers taught most often in English. The average duration of staff mobility for teaching was 7 days. The number of participants as planned in the grant agreement for call 2014 was 131.There has been an increase in the number of student and staff mobilities during the last couple of years at UB. In total 147 UB students and staff participated in the project.
