International and European cooperation plays an important role in the strategic development of Ege Un. It encourages the students at all cycles (from the first to the third) to go abroad for study or traineeship. The mobility of students is the University?s most intensive European activity. Ege Un. stands out for the high number of exchange students and staff in Erasmus Program among Turkish universities. Ege Un. was awarded by ECTS(2011) and DS(April2005, 2009 and 2013) Labels. Ege Un. aims to internationalize its curriculum by increasing the number of study programs taught in foreign languages, increasing the number of international faculty and researchers and improving the language competency of the local teaching and administrative staff. Ege Un. places great importance on student mobility for traineeships to familiarize the students with the practice of profession, application of knowledge and skills in working life. It has a tradition of good cooperation with professional organizations and enterprises abroad. It strives for increasing the number of students participating in mobility for traineeships to enhance their employability. Ege Un. puts a lot of emphasis on the development of joint and/or double degree programs and aims to establish programs with other prestigious institutions especially for Joint Masters degrees programs. It has established 4 Double degree programs with universities which are also Erasmus partners. Ege Un. aims to increase the number of incoming students by increasing the number of curricula taught in a foreign language, arranging courses in Turkish language, developing the international tutoring system, and providing more information material and offering individual counseling. Staff mobility is encouraged, as it helps to develop links and contribute towards international sharing of knowledge and expertise. Staff mobility is promoted among teaching and administrative staff for its positive influence on career prospects and strengthens links with partner universities. Ege Un. aims at increasing the number and quality of international agreements. It has developed 400 bilateral agreements with 312 European universities in 26 European countries within the scope of Erasmus Program for 2014-2015 academic year. Total mobility number is 523 Achieved number of student mobility for traineeships is 34 Achieved number of student mobility for studies is 474 Achieved number of staff mobility for teaching is 12 Achieved number of staff mobility for training is 3 Ege Un. ensures the highest quality in the organization of student and staff mobility Studying and training abroad are considered a valuable opportunity to increase the student?s professional, social and intercultural skills and employability. Great importance has been given for visibility. All agreements, application and selection procedures following the rules put by Turkish NA are announced on the web site and notice board of departments. Ege Un. ensures high quality in mobility activities by the efficient recognition of credits gained abroad, effective use of ECTS and Diploma Supplement and by linking qualifications to the European Qualifications Framework. The departments determine the outgoing staff by keeping the needs and specialties of the host university in mind. Ege Un. also places great emphasis on efficient use of mobility periods ? making best use of time abroad for maximum benefit. Necessary measures are taken to attract the appropriate number and the correct profile of students/staff. Methodology and the criteria are set to guarantee a transparent selection process based on equal opportunities as well as standards agreed by the partners. Practical arrangements for the incoming and outgoing students and staff such as administrative support, housing facilities, language courses, support for insurance, visa/ residence permit, etc. are provided. There has never been any kind of discrimination. Equal access and opportunities for mobile participants from all backgrounds are ensured. The selection of students and staff and allocation of grants are made in a fair, transparent, coherent and documented way. The curriculum information is up to date, easily accessible and transparent and also an academic credit transfer system (ECTS) gives transparency to the procedures. Equal academic treatment, facilities and services to home and Erasmus participants are provided. Ege Un. provides incoming Erasmus students and their home institutions with transcripts containing full, accurate and timely information at the end of their mobility period abroad.
