Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In 1962,Canadian intellectual Marshall McLuhan coins the phrase "global village" in order to indicate the advent of technology and social network. Due to the rapid rise in cross border movements, the 21st century marks the time when the distances between regions are blurred. As the global village phenomenon suggests, the diversity is an inevitable consequence of the globalization. As pointed out above, globalization led to many changes in various realms. Of all those changes, Erasmus+ project, as an initiative of European Union, is premised upon the notion that one can not take the significance of transnational education for granted. The mobility of individuals has gained an utmost importance which juxtapose education with socialization. By means of the mobility of students and staff, Erasmus+ programme contributes to international relations. The primary objective of this project is to promote intercultural awareness and create a world wide network. Besides, Erasmus experience helps exchange of ideas all over the globe. As the participants encounter cultural diversity in the countries they visit, the generation of innovative ideas in learning environment is an expected outcome of this project. Within the framework of Erasmus mobility for learning programme, eighteen Suleyman Sah University (SSU) students had the opportunity to visit European countries whereas eight students have participated in Erasmus mobility for traineeship programme. That means twenty six SSU students have gained international experience under the Erasmus+ programme. Based on the participants' experiences and impressions, both learning and traineeship programmes have a great impact on students' academic and social skills. One of the important advantages of this project was that students have developed their language skills and had the chance to acquire second language during their study abroad. In addition to multilingualism, Erasmus experience plays a vital role in building social dialogue and fostering confidence of individuals. Furthermore, Erasmus+ programme marks a crucial point for staff too. Erasmus plus project enables academic and administrative staff of the universities to spend teaching or training periods at the Erasmus partner universities. It has provided SSU staff with great opportunities for both personal and professional development. Nine academic and four administrative staff members from SSU who participated n mobility programme have indicated that this programme has constituted a great role in initiating new ideas by meeting colleagues at partner universities. In addition, cooperation between institutions at various levels has led to transfer of ?best practice? knowledge. More so, the mobility results in cooperation among academic staff with the potential of valuable academic output. Experience of academic and administrative staff will have the opportunity to build stronger relations with different institutions which are located in EU countries in the near future.
