Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

International collaboration including student and staff mobility makes an important contribution to enriching the experience of Glyndwr University's students and providing opportunities for staff to engage with their peers in other countries and cultures. For students, horizons are broadened and future prospects strengthened. Incoming student and staff mobility is as important as outgoing mobility, with regard to the first of those outcomes. For staff, experience of other approaches to learning and teaching enriches their own curriculum development and provides opportunities to engage in joint research projects and other collaborations. Glyndwr University has taken part in Erasmus mobility activity since the mid 1990s, together with a small number of multilateral Erasmus funded projects. During 2014/15 and 2015/16, 77% of planned mobility was achieved. 21 'outgoing' staff teaching visits were undertaken (involving 8 partner institutions), 5 students benefitted from study periods abroad (to 4 partner institutions), and one student training period was achieved. In several cases, staff teaching visits involve staff new or relatively new to this activity, providing a valuable developmental opportunity. Teaching mobility with three of the partner institutions has contributed to broader research related collaborations. In one case, teacher mobility has facilitated a joint curriculum development initiative. In all cases, outgoing and incoming mobility activity reinforces the University's underlying relationship with each partner institution.
