Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Being an internationalised institution, the University of Glasgow (UoG) is committed to the development of a multicultural community of students and staff, the provision of a supportive environment and educational experience that prepares our students at all levels for global political and social environments. Our commitment to internationalisation is evident in the University?s strategic plan Glasgow 2020 ? a Global Vision, which articulates our mission to become ?a world-class, world-changing University.? Internationalisation features heavily in the strategic plan alongside the growth of international partnerships and student mobility experiences. In fact it is envisioned that at least 20% of our students will have an international experience each year by 2020. With this ambitious target in mind UoG is committed to increasing the number of students taking part in mobility activities each year and indeed the number of Erasmus+ program participants has continued to increase year on year (outward mobility numbers have risen 108% in 5 years). As evidenced in the 2014/15 KA1 project report we originally anticipated 380 motilities overall in academic year 2014/15 and achieved 372, therefore only narrowly missing our predicted target. It is apparent however that certain participant demographics require more focus: staff mobility numbers for teaching and training account for only 8% of the overall figures; participation from students from disadvantaged backgrounds (WP) and from students with Special Needs also remains low. Therefore a primary objective moving forward is to not only increase overall program participation but also to ensure that international experiences is perceived as available to all by potential participants. In order to meet such objectives (both program specific and institution wide) we plan to; ? Develop a more versatile range of placements & exchanges ? Ensure greater recognition for non-credit bearing placements ? Develop collaborative degree programs (such as double degree program & EM Masters degrees) ? Expand and develop our bilateral & network relationships with academic institutions, industry & employers ? Investigate avenues with our disability service to see how we can increase participation from this demographic ? Continue to work closely with our WP team to ensure we effectively reach out to all students from disadvantaged backgrounds in a more targeted manner ? Strengthen our relationships with college mobility coordinators and collaborate more frequently on project work to further promote mobility and build internationalisation within the core programmes With a further predicted volume increase for academic year 2015/16 we hope to continue to expand and improve the program with the aim of achieving the Universities 20% mobility target by 2020 and contributing towards the overall institution-wide commitment to internationalisation.
