Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Increasing demand among our students and staff for international mobility is a key strand of our Internationalisation Strategy at the University of Stirling. Through enhanced promotion of Erasmus+ exchange opportunities to our students and staff as well as strong partnership working with our academic schools, 2014/15 was a successful year and we experienced strong demand for Erasmus+ exchange opportunities. Objectives: number and type profile of participants Student Mobility Study Student Mobility Traineeships Staff Mobility Teaching Activities Undertaken Promotion - Annually we hold an International Opportunities Fair to showcase the exchange opportunities available at the University of Stirling where there is strong presence from students who have returned from Erasmus+ exchanges the previous academic year. Following this we hold information sessions to second year students to advise on compatible matches for their degree programmes, financial support available and answering any other questions they may have. Students are selected following a competitive application process. Support to outgoing students: information sessions for students who were selected for exchange, weekly drop in sessions Support for exchange students: emails to keep in touch and ensure that they had settled in well. Responding to queries and concerns quickly. Results and Impact - The clear evidence of the impact of promotion of the Erasmus+ programme is the increase in participants from 53 students in 2013/14 to 57 students in 2014/15 and this increase can be seen not from compulsory Language exchanges but also in areas such as the School of Applied Social Science and School of Natural Sciences where participation has historically been low. By holding an event for all students who have returned from Erasmus+ exchange in conjunction with our Careers Service we hope to ensure our students can use the academic and life experiences gained to apply and secure jobs after their studies. Longer Term benefits - our aim is to develop knowledgeable, skilled graduates who have core values of respect for diversity in cultures and beliefs and a pursuit of knowledge that sustains beneficial change in in local, national and international society.
