Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014,
Date de fin: 31 mai 2016
PROJET
TERMINÉ
In 2014, the mobility consortium in the higher education has been set up (accreditation granted by the National Agency on 6th June 2014). Flanders Knowledge Area vzw is consortium coordinator. The consortium members are: all Flemish higher education institutions, with the exception of Hogere Zeevaartschool and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In 2016, Vrije Universiteit Brussel joins as member. Setting up the consortium is a logic continuation of the TOI-Reconfirm-project (www.reconfirm.eu). The project objective was setting up a Flemish traineeship platform for the benefit of and accessible for all graduates of the Flemish higher education institutions, for the institutions themselves, policy makers, companies.
In the framework of one of the objectives of the consortium (extending the qualitative traineeship offer after graduation) and the Erasmus+ programme, in 2014 Flanders Knowledge Area has applied for funding of Student Mobility for Traineeships between Programme Countries. Conform its’ objectives, the consortium commits to the follow up of: student mobility traineeship after graduation.
All activities of the consortium are related to student mobility placement (SMP) – outgoing. Flanders Knowledge Area, as consortium coordinator and applicant of the mobility projects, has financial responsibility. The partners (members) are responsible for the traineeship mobility of their graduates, that is the selection of the candidates from their own institution, specific preparation, providing a framework in case of special needs, spreading information within their institution, signing the Training Agreement of each participant.
Flanders Knowledge Area applied for 170 mobilities and 147 mobilities were realized. As during the first working year, mobilities were being approved in the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci-programme which was phasing out and because that first year must be seen as the start-up phase of a new project, the number of mobilities in that first year is limited. In the second year, there is a remarkable increase of the number of mobilities. We can say it is a success.
In the period 1st June 2014 – 31st May 2016, the following Flemish Higher Education institutions have realized mobilities: Arteveldehogeschool, VIVES (both juridical entities), KU Leuven, Thomas More (both juridical entities), Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen, Hogeschool Gent, Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen, Erasmushogeschool Brussel, Universiteit Antwerpen, Universiteit Gent, LUCA School of Arts, Universiteit Hasselt, Odisee Hogeschool, PXL Hogeschool.
