Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Institut Pere Martell makes a special effort to open itself into Europe. That is why we carry out mobility grants both for teachers and students. We have a lot of experience in international mobility as we have developed programmes abroad for over 10 years (Leonardo, Erasmus, Comenius…) We have achieved one of the main objectives in our Erasmus Policy Statement: a greater implication of the teaching staff. Four teachers from different departments (Graphic Design, Media Production and and Motor Vehicles Maintenance and Repair) have taken part and three tutors have coordinated the students’ training in companies abroad. Three of our EQF Level 5 students have enjoyed mobility agreements in companies abroad (Italy and the Czech Rebublic). This on-the-job training has turned out to be very valuable for the students' knowledge and abilities on their. Thanks to this experience, our students have also improved their level of English and have acquired some understanding of the languages spoken in those countries. Teachers are grateful for this opportunity. The activities carried out by the teachers have focused on increasing their knowledge on their branches of study in different countries. A Graphic Design teacher travelled to Florence to learn more about serigraph printing. Another teacher from this department went to a Graphic Design Company in the same city thanks to the help of Leonardo da Vinci College. A Media Production teacher did some job shadowing in Denmark. Finally, a Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair teacher stayed in London and Malta where he got involved with two garages. Both teachers and students have done practical work on their specialities: video and editing in a film company from Prague and car maintenance and repair and graphic design and vinyls in Florence. The results have been very positive. We have improved the relationships with our partners and have consolidated the on-the-job training to get better in the future.
