Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The current project provides for student mobilities for studies and traineeship and staff mobilities for teaching ad training. Main goals of this particular key action were the enhancement of student mobility quality in terms of academic impact along with the increase of participants’ number. Concerning staff mobility, priority was given to boosting the added value of mobilities for both Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and participants and to raising the number of participants, as well. All above-mentioned goals are considered to be achieved, except for quantitative goal set above in the context of the studies programme (please see fields 3 and 5.2). In particular, 232 students participated in the traineeships programme, 566 students participated in the studies programme, 121 faculty members participated in the teaching programme and 73 faculty and staff members participated in the training programme. Participants were involved in learning, teaching and training activities. The outcomes of these mobilities are highly satisfactory based on: • the high percentage of academic recognition in the context of students’ mobilities for studies, • examples of recent graduates’ employment in host organizations and a spectacular increase in students’ applications for traineeships • faculty members’ participation (through the introduction of existing courses) in joint study programmes, enrichment of their teaching experience, drafting new bilateral agreements and projects (mobilities for teaching) • transfer of know-how to and from AuTh concerning both learning and administrative processes (mobilities for training) The impact of the abovementioned outcomes was the greater visibility of the Erasmus+ programme and the latter’s Key Actions for Higher Education, and as a result an increased interest for participation and a raise in submitted applications. Moreover, there was an increased interest on behalf of faculty members in submitting project proposal in the context of Key Action 2 and a positive feedback form all AuTh Faculties and Schools regarding the decision to submit an application for International Credit Mobility in the context of Key Action 3 (which was successfully completed and approved). It is obvious that institution’s internalization, faculty and staff members’ extroversion and enrichment of participants’ academic development have been enhanced, and are expected to be boosted further, through participation in these programmes. In addition, recent graduates’ mobility for traineeships is viewed as a way of promoting AuTH’s graduates employability with long-term benefits concerning their employment prospects, since this provision facilitates interconnection between study programmes and world job market. Conclusively, all aforementioned programmes are deemed as highly successful, as they provided a large volume of participants, coming from different member categories of AuTh academic community, with the opportunity of visiting a partner institution and obtaining valuable academic, cultural, professional and personal experiences, which are expected to contribute to their further development.
