Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

BiTS University prepares its students for a career in an international environment. Therefore, the university has steadily increased its international activities in recent years. This is also supported by the fact that BiTS is part of the Laureate network since January 2008. That way, students and teachers have the possibility to act and mobilize internationally. The international orientation allows students to contact other students from partner universities and to develop joint projects with them. Furthermore, a high student mobility offers many opportunities to meet other perspectives, to better understand cultures and to reflect on their own attitudes and values. BiTS sees itself as an inclusive, multicultural university. We value our diversity and respect the views and the culture of others. Although countries outside the EU will always have a special appeal in particular, the exchanges within the European Union are an important component of our international orientation. Therefore, Europe is very interesting for many students. It is close to Germany, in many ways similar, yet offers a cultural exchange. Our goal for our students is to enable mobility in countries or cities that are interesting for them, but also offer the appropriate study program. We always try to check our existing partnerships and establish new cooperation. That is the reason why we have currently built a new partnership with the Netherlands; they offer a very good course offer which is appropriate to our degree programs. Another reason to enter into new partnerships is to increase the exchange within Europe, so that international students from Europe can also be part of BiTS. Another important goal is the development of personal mobility (ST). Through the support of Erasmus +, we can now develop this area further. Twice a year, Erasmus scholarships are advertised to BiTS students. During the information sessions, students can learn about the semester abroad (countries, cities, universities) and the possible Erasmus funding. At our Erasmus guide students will find useful information on topics such as application process, criteria, selection process, as well as necessary deadlines etc. As the semester abroad is mandatory for nearly all students, we do not discriminate in the profile of participants. Our aim is to enable the desired semester abroad for as many students as possible, and to fund their accomplishments, skills, and motivations with an Erasmus scholarship. Unfortunately, there were no information sessions for staff or internship during 2014. Students received an Erasmus - Praktika Guide via Email or at the download center of our portal. However, our aim is to organize specific information sessions for SMP and ST in 2016.
