Higher education student and staff mobility project

The project was carried out by the Consortium tied between the Jagiellonian University (UJ), the University of Science and Technology (AGH) and the Center for Innovative Development of Society (CIRS). Project was coordinated by CIRS. Project was aimed at organizing students’ mobility projects for traineeships in countries participating in the Erasmus Plus Programme. Traineeships were directed to students in the field of Medicine, Biology and Chemistry. At Jagiellonian University traineeships were addressed to students of Faculties of Biology and Earth Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine and Health Sciences. The University of Science and Technology addressed traineeships to students of the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics. The project included 111 mobility - 96 students and 15 graduates. The average period of transships was three months and took place in 21 countries. Among the foreign partners were research institutes, university laboratories, commercial biotechnology/chemistry companies. Thanks to traineeships, students obtained the following benefits: - Increasing employment opportunities and better career prospects, - Increasing the sense of the importance of their own initiative and entrepreneurship, - Increase the level of self-empowerment and self-esteem, - Improving foreign language skills in the language of everyday and specialized - Increase intercultural awareness, - An increase in activity in social life, - Increasing the awareness of the European dimension of the labor market and the importance of the European Union in the context of planning and career development, - Increased professional competence, - A better understanding of the practice and education at the European level, - A better understanding of the links between formal and informal education and vocational training and the labor market, - Increasing motivation and satisfaction in learning.
