Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW implemented project within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme Action 1 „Mobility project for higher education students and staff” within cooperation between Programme Countries. The project lasted 24 months. The project aimed to enhance the internationalization of SGGW and partner institutions by: - activating outbound student, academic and non-academic staff mobilities - flow of scientific and research knowledge, exchange of experience and best practices, transfer technologies - building and strengthening effective partnerships and networks which will bring new international initiatives in the future The result of these activities was to enhance the prestige of SGGW in international environment, to foster competitiveness, attractiveness and innovativeness and quality of education. For individuals the project effected with gaining international experience either in the personal, social, cultural or professional area. The project included outbound and inbound mobilities within student mobility for studies and traineeships, staff mobility for teaching and training. In reference to outgoing exchange categories SGGW carried out: - 169 student mobilities for studies, - 61 student mobilities for traineeships, - 71 staff mobilities for teaching - 13 staff mobilities for training. At that time SGGW hosted 136 exchange students for studies and traineeships and 42 in purpose of teaching and having training. Mobilities were carried out on the basis of 196 inter-institutional agreements. The institution supported all informative and disseminative the project activities encouraging prospective applicants to participate in the project. Along with the whole mobility process SGGW fully assisted all participants administratively and substantively. Parallelly the wide promoting actions were taken up for promoting SGGW as attractive institution for incoming students and staff. For exchange students SGGW offered over 170 courses and master programmes in English in environmental protection, economics and veterinary specializations. Moreover SGGW provided administrative assistance and integration, linguistic and cultural adaptation activities for all mobile participants. Within the project students from each specialization and study cycle could carry out the mobilities for studies to partner universities. Student traineeships recognized as obligatory or facultative element of their curriculum were done in institutions, universities, clinics, laboratories and companies in wide-ranging disciplines. Academic staff mobility provided lectures and seminars for participants at 3 study levels in partner universities. Administrative and academic staff participated in training in higher education institutions in organized staff training weeks or within individual visits in job-shadowing, conducting scientific and case study research. In the frame of he project SGGW accomplished 314 mobilities in total, 35 more than the established in the agreement. The project had a broad impact for its participants, academic environment and institution. Participants improved their personal, social skills and developed competences linked to their professional profiles, increased their capacities to operate in international environment, built up new contacts and strengthened scientific and research connections. Among academician society increased the interest of participation in other European funding opportunities, research projects and educational programmes like summer schools, conferences and symposia, publications.
