Higher education student and staff mobility project

"George Enescu" University of Arts from Iasi, Romania (UAGE) has developed an educational project of Erasmus + KA1, with a duration of 16 months, in the academic year 2014-2015, after getting an Erasmus Charter as an artistic institution of higher education for the period 2014-2020. UAGE works as a State institution and has as mission the training of specialists for artistic domains Music, Theatre, Visual arts and design, through specialized courses at license, master and doctorate level, which gives the University a configuration and a special position at the national level. Beneficiary of EU funds for academic mobility from 1999, UAGE saw in this project an opportunity to progress, to maintain a leading position in the national ranking of higher education institutions, in terms of quality of education, and had as primary goal of this project materialization of the policy of internationalization of the university by orienting and connecting students and staff at the context and international realities in the artistic field, in order to better integrate them into the labor market and to develop them as members of a community based on multiculturalism and information. The followed objectives were: 1. increasing the quality and attractiveness of educational process by offering an international academic mobility as part of the study period and artistic practice, in all existing specializations (Music Performance, Music Education, Composition, Musicology, Conducting, Religious music, Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Photography and Video, Fashion design, Mural art, Fine and Decorative Arts' pedagogy, Conservation - Restoration, Design, History and Theory of Art, Acting, Acting/ Puppets/ Marionettes, Directing, Theatre, Theatre Journalism) and recognizing the gained results / skills; 2. increasing the number of outoing and incoming academic mobility for students and staff, in the total number of students and staff of UAGE, as well as the duration of the mobility, respecting the principles of equal, fair and non-discriminatory access of candidates to mobility grants, regardless of social and cultural origin; 3. strengthening a network of European partners, compatible in terms of specializations, with whom UAGE has a history of active cooperation, based on the win-win principle and with whom it could extend cooperation to other types of projects; 4. modernization of educational space, dynamic collaboration between departments, increasing service quality support to mobility and internationalization of curricula through the integration and use of results / experiences / individual best practices in daily activities at university level; 5. dissemination of the mobility impact to raise the awareness about the social, cultural, linguistic diversity of European higher education area. Implementation and completion of the project resulted in: -we achieved 78 beneficiaries with 5780 days, with initial project application planned in a total of 76 beneficiaries with 5690 days, at a total number of 1246 students and 88 employees UAGE; - Improving language skills because of the linguistic support OLS (language test and course) awarded to students who carried out the study and placement mobility in the 2nd semester or during the whole academic year; -Increased Flexibility on choosing courses in LA, favoring the focus on beneficiary, interdisciplinary aspect and qualitative applications of Mobility, followed by recognition of learning outcomes; - international orientation of UAGE graduates and providing them a work experience, of adapting to the labor market and of putting into practice the theoretical knowledge, during the vulnerable period after graduation, though a placement period; - Stimulating the professional development of the staff by increasing motivation and daily professional satisfaction, the awareness of own position and personal value in relation to teaching and non-teaching staff of the partner universities, and increasing adaptability, openness and understanding towards divers educational and social contexts; -Tracking UAGE proposed steps for internationalization; -Activating and increasing service quality of support provided before, during and after mobility through individual communication with the participants and a closer and careful communication with university departments involved, adapting to the increasing complexity of EU instruments introduced by the new Erasmus Plus, in dealing of each particular situation occurred, advising and providing required information and documents to participants; -signing a number of 35 IIA for music, 29 for fine arts, 4 for Theatre, 3 for education of future teachers, 4 on placements. We gave up partnerships inactive for a longer period of time.
