Higher education student and staff mobility project

Within the program Vision 2020, Mondragon Unibertsitatea (MU) raises a number of strategic challenges for the period 2013-2016 and among them the INTERNATIONALIZATION, which comprises the initiative "Promoting the international mobility of students and teachers of MU and towards MU". In the development of this strategic challenge, the present project MUGIKO aims at the implementation of a scheme of student mobility abroad that allows the formation of future professionals, citizens. These people will gain not only a deep understanding of local realities and needs, but also of the most pioneering and innovating initiatives around the world. To meet this end, Mondragon Unibertsitatea has established alliances with more than 350 international institutions of higher education, business and organizations. The relations with these entities encourage the implementation of different programs of mobility to carry out academic stays and practices in undergraduate, master and doctorate levels. MUGIKO is intended to offer students the opportunity to participate in the processes of exchange and mobility that allow them acquire and develop necessary skills to access to the labor market and carry out higher value and better paid professional work. Mondragon Unibertsitatea encourages the mobility of students through the development of four types of mobility programmes: • "Atzerrian Ikasi " (Study Abroad) • "Atzerrian Praktikak edo Proiektuak " (International Practical Internships) • "Ikaskuntza Bidaiak" (Learning Journeys) • "Diploma Bikoitza" (Double Degree) In addition, the MUGIKO project intends to strengthen the links with the associated education institutions and create the opportunity to exchange experiences that facilitate the development of academic skills, as well as the management of international mobility. As an additional objective, a gradual improvement of the mobility management capacity at MU is expected with the development of this project. Within the current academic, administrative and financial framework, promote the mobility of students between universities and partner organizations will allow consolidating networks and identify new opportunities for the economic support of mobility.
