Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The University of West Hungary (UWH) aims to achieve and sustain excellence in every area of its teaching, by both national (regional) and international standards. To this end, it establishes a flexible educational structure that may be changed to meet the needs of domestic and foreign students and labor markets. The University emphasizes the equal importance of theory and practice in its education, also promoting values such as multidisciplinarity and internationalization. The international dimension in this field consists of the following elements: mobility, inter-institutional collaborations, and international education. Internationalization also contributes to institutional self-improvement by requiring continuous upgrading of curricula and student services, development of foreign language programmes, increased staff and student mobility and establishment of inter-institutional collaborations. As a result, the University can improve its position in the international higher education marketplace. This process is greatly facilitated by the opportunity to take part in the Erasmus+ KA1 programme of the EU, submitting applications year by year and striving to realize the goals of the project. Our University has got campuses in four cities and consists of eight faculties with their own management, academic offices and academic regulations. In order to ensure the feasibility of the project as much as possible, we consult with faculties on mobility activities expected before submitting the application. During the realization of the project, we are striving to provide full publicity, equal opportunity, to actively support people with disabilities and to avoid restrictionary practice towards women. The procedures for recognition of study-abroad credits are described in the Studies and Exams Code, forming an integral part of the Academic Regulations for Students. ECTS is used to easily transfer credits to partner universities. To facilitate the recognition of credits gained abroad, outgoing students are provided a Learning Agreement. Credit recognition issues belong to Credit Transfer Committees, which are in place at each Faculty of the University. UWH issues a Diploma Supplement to graduates where credits earned at foreign partner institutions are also documented. All incoming students are registered in the electronic administration system called Neptun. After successful completion of the program, incoming students receive a Transcript of Records and a Confirmation of Erasmus Study Period. The Faculties are constantly looking for partner institutions to make cooperation agreements and do student and staff exchanges with. Inter-institutional agreements are signed by the Vice Rector of Scientific and International Affairs. Meetings are held with outgoing students and information is provided in the application process and throughout the period of study abroad. The experience of returning students is also utilized to promote the Erasmus mobility program to outgoing students. The knowledge and experience gained through staff mobility, i.e., teaching abroad, are rewarded at promotion time. Returning Erasmus staff are viewed as a great asset for institutional development. UWH aims to directly provide comprehensive information to outgoing, incoming and returning persons on all its campuses. Special assistance is provided to people with disabilities. Arising from the specific internal culture of our University, our colleagues provide information, support and problem - management primarily on a personal basis, and we do rely greatly on students and staff with international experience when addressing next year’s applicants. The implementation of the project is supported by the network of faculty co-ordinators, and operate a central and faculty web - sites. To meet its internationalization objectives, UWH continuously promotes the principles of LLP and the related mobility programs, with special emphasis on all Erasmus activities.
