Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project is purely devoted to the mobility of students and staff of the Universitat de Girona within the European Framework. The importance of this action is decribed in the EPS in the submitted application for the Institutional Contract, is translated into the grant application to fulfill de movilities and into the subsequent signed grant contract and the conditions are accepted by obtaining and accepting the ECHE. The Universitat de Girona (UdG) began to participate in its own right with the Erasmus-Socrates programme but since 1992 had been participating in Erasmus ICPs (without coordinating any of them). Before then, the UdG didn’t exist, although it participated in the programme as a part of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) or of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), which was its legal status at the time. The UdG’s development as an institution has coincided with the different phases of the programme (Erasmus-Socrates, LLP-Erasmus and now Erasmus +). It has successfully adapted its objectives to those of the programme, as demonstrated by the renovation of contracts with the European Commission, the acceptation of new applications and the approval of the European Policy Statement (EPS) described in them. In the most recent EPS, presented in 2013, where this project is framed mobility was mentioned as a key component of internationalisation. Our aim is to make all lavel students to take part in the movility programms to increase the number of graduate students with intenational experience. The amount of them in last academic year with all facts included was 12%. We have focused our efforts on sending an average of 250 students (including those to study and those for trainership) a year within the KA103 project. Obviously, we would like to increase this number, but we must consider the limitations facing us and described in other points of this document. Greater staff mobility for teaching and training in both directions is also included among the objectives because that’s the basic element to achieve the institution internationalization. Whitin this group, staff mobility for training is the one which has fallen most behind, mostly in the inbound flows, which we have never experienced. During the 2014-2015 Academic Year, the total number of participants has been 272, distributed into 161 movilities for study (104 in the framework of the European Grants and 57 with the MECD ones), 81 movilities for training , 2 staff movilities for training and 28 academic staff movilities . At this point, we wish to express our satisfaction with the growth and consolidation of students mobility for training. We must add the inbound figures to those above. They have been 226 students for studies and 19 academic staff. There is no doubt that participation in Erasmus+ program (as in the projects that preceded it in earlier versions of the programme) increases the number of European and International collaborations. As also emphasized in the EPS, the UdG is decidedly in favour of establishing joint and double international degrees and in that sense we want to highlight the recent approval of our summited Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Medical Image and Applications.
