Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

AAMS offers one programme – The Marine and Technical Engineering Programme. Therefore the students mentioned in this final report will all be Marine and Technical Engineer students and staff members will all be lecturers who teach Marine and Technical Engineering students. The programme gives students three possibilities of going abroad during their studies: Students can study abroad on the 8th semester; the elective semester. Besides that students go through two traineeships during the education – the workshop internship (lasting nine months) on the 2nd and the 3rd semester. During this workshop the students practice manual skills. On their final semester, the 9th semester, students do a traineeship lasting three months - the bachelor’s traineeship. This traineeship is theoretical and is followed by the bachelor’s thesis. During this project periode Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering (AAMS) had 23 mobilities within programme countries: three student mobilities for studies, 11 student mobilities for traineeship, two staff teaching mobilities and seven staff mobilities for training. STUDENT MOBILITY FOR STUDIES The three students studied at HEI partner institutions, the institutions were either Universities of applied sciences or University colleges. The students spent an entire semester at the partner institutions. The students studied courses at these partner institutions that were very relevant to our programme and to their future work; they studied courses within the fields of energy supply, management, automation etc. STUDENT MOBILITY FOR TRAINEESHIPS 11 students did an internship in a company in another European country. The companies were both landbased - a brewery, a wind turbine company, a valve production and a bacon factory, and one company was a cruise line company. All these business offered our students tasks and projects relevant to our programme and their furture job in the industry; typically the students did Daily maintenance and operation, Building up the wind turbines and data collection, mechanical and electrical problem solving etc. The students who participated in the mobility for traineeships were both from the workshop internship and the bachelor’s internship. STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING Two lecturers did a staff mobility for training at a Dutch partner institution. Our institutions make a project together where Danish and Dutch students must solve a case together online and the two lecturers were in charge of the project and went to the Netherlands to instruct students in the project. This collaboration and the visit at our partner institution are very valuable to both institutions; it strengthens the partnership, provides knowledge about the other institution and on how to run a project. The idea is that the project – that students from AAMS and our Dutch partner institution solves a case together online – will run every semester so future students will benefit from this project. STAFF MOBILITY FOR TRAINING The seven staff members who did a training mobility did either a language course or attended a workshop about physics. They were either lecturers in language or in physics. Due to this mobility the lecturers gained new ideas to their teaching, better language skills and established new contacts.
