The Conservatory ?U. Giordano? of Foggia joins the EU program Erasmus+ pursuing the goal to develop the internationalization and modernization of High Education in its specific field: Art, Music and Teaching, investing in Education, Professional Training and high quality Research. This process already started in 2009/10 with the EU Program ?Lifelong Learning? which allowed the students to learn new practice strategies, to develop their social skills in entering new environments, to strengthen their knowledge of foreign languages and also to find increasing job opportunities. The program also enabled teachers and staff to learn and share with foreign colleagues new methodologies in teaching and education. The internationalization is an essential part of the modernization process activated in the conservatory. This process is fundamental to measure the efficiency of our education system in relation to partner institutions as well as to think about how to preserve and improve our specific strengths. The exchange opportunities allowed by the Erasmus program for scholarship, teaching and overall education, became important tools to achieve a common growth and to verify our goals as school. With the Erasmus+ Program, the conservatory defends its educational standards trough a constant revision of the courses and monitoring of the degrees given in order to guarantee their up-to-date relevance in creating even more qualified professional profiles in the Music field both in performing and teaching. To achieve such goal, the conservatory expanded the partnerships with other public and private local institutions. First of all the conservatory improved the collaboration with the Town Council and the Province to realize performing events, musical conventions and scientific seminars. In addition there were agreements stipulated with: - University of Foggia for individual teaching regarding some classes and through the E-Learning model regarding other subjects. - The Linguistic Center of the University of Foggia to offer, free of charge, to students, teachers and staff courses of foreign languages, as well as Italian classes to the incoming international students. - ?Cerco Alloggio Puglia II (Student Dorm - Cooperativa Apulia Student Service Soc. Coop. r.l. in collaboration with Agency for University Students Rights of Puglia Region). This institution offers free services to find accommodations for both international students as well as students coming from Italian cities others than Foggia. - Middle and High Schools in the area for teacher training programs. The Conservatory adopts an improvement policy to support the mobility of incoming and departing students, faculty and staff, with the goal to enlarge the number and the quality of the participants. The Erasmus Office organizes various meetings to give information about specific goals and how to join the European Program. In addition, the conservatory provides on-line information through its web site, Facebook and Twitter. Equal opportunities are guaranteed to all the participants independently from their race, color, sex, gender, disability, religious and political ideas. The conservatory also promotes special financial support for economically disadvantaged people. The participants are selected with the outmost fairness according to the rules established by the EU program. All the students enrolled in the bachelor and master degrees and all faculty members and staff employed by the conservatory are eligible to spend a period of studies or professional training abroad in one of the Institutions with which the conservatory signed an agreement. The impact of the new EU program has been very positive for all the participants who improved their knowledge of foreign languages and lived new teaching and personal experiences. The results achieved adhered to the expected ones. Therefore the conservatory had mobility for the students interested in regular courses( n.3 students enrolled in the Master program), for faculty and staff (n.1 staff member, n.2 faculty members). In addition the conservatory improved the mobility for students interested in teacher training ( n.2 master students and 1 post-master student). The conservatory also accepted 2 incoming teachers (n.1 for Teaching and n.1 for Education).
