Almost 5000 students of AUEB spent a semester or a year Erasmus period at partner institutions while approximately 3800 students have been accepted and attended courses taught in English at AUEB for one semester or one academic year with the use of ECTS for academic recognition purposes. In parallel, during the last 5 years 220 AUEB students participated in “Erasmus Student Placement” and spent from 3 to 6 months in companies/organisations and institutions of the EU.The inbound & outbound students’ reports include very positive comments for this invaluable experience of theirs. AUEB received the StudyPortals Award for Outstanding International Student Satisfaction 2014! StudyPortals International Student Satisfaction awards are based on thousands of reviews and opinions from international students in Europe. AUEB has shown excellent results based on reviews from international students who participated in Erasmus and studied at this university, by achieving an average rating of 9.5 out of 10. AUEB organized in early July 2015 the “3rd Erasmus Staff Training Week” with the participation of 20 administrative & teaching staff from various EU institutions. During this week, educational, training, peer-learning, best practices’ exchange and cultural activities took effectively place with a significant impact to all group members. The AUEB Research Centre, under its policy of supporting the Erasmus Programme, awards grants of good academic performance to its outgoing students, who spent successfully an Erasmus period abroad and returned having achieved 30 ECTS credits, in recognition to their efforts. The continuous increase of inbound and outbound student mobility per year is a positive element for the further development of the Programme in the future. The impact of the Programme to students and staff is significant resulting to the increased demand for participation in Erasmus from these target groups. In the context of its future plans, AUEB, based on its international orientation and expertise from the long-lasting and successful participation in Erasmus, designs the further development of new bilateral and multilateral collaborations with institutions from EU and non-EU countries aiming at student and staff exchanges as well as at the establishment of joint programmes at undergraduate and post graduate level.
