PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project within the Key Action 1 Mobility for Higher Education Program of our center "Vocational Training Centre Daniel Castelao" has been benefited, is the mobility for traineeship of students in higher education and for teachers to practice and training. This project is part of the revitalization and dissemination activities in European Programmes contained in the Annual General Programming of our institution, in which the center has been working since 2001, first with initiatives of the regional government and later with the Lifelong Learning Programme and Erasmus + now. The center has the Erasmus Charter since 2011, so our students enjoying mobility leads to practices since 2012.
Mobility of students for practice, we hope that students beneficiaries of the aid made the "Training in the Workplace" (FCT) in a foreign company or institution module. To do this, in the last quarter of the two years of study (April to June), you must make a total of 384 hours (22 ECTS credits) in the company. In this call, two students of upper Management Information Systems Network (CS ASIR) and a student of upper-Platform Application Development (CS DAM) have enjoyed mobilities granted for the center.
CS ASIR students have made their mobility in higher education institution "Northern Regional College" (http://www.nrc.ac.uk/) in Northern Ireland, an educational institution with which our center had previously collaborated a Leonardo Partnership within the Lifelong Learning Programme. There, our students were integrated into the management team and network management center where they worked actively in monitoring, management and maintenance of the computer network that the NRC has spread over its 6 different campuses.
The DAM student mobility has benn made in the company "McAuley Precision Limited" (http://www.mcauleyengineering.co.uk/), engineering company which contacted by NRC. It developed, mainly in Java, software to meet the needs that the tutor was proposing to him, automating tasks in spreadsheets, automatic updating of data collected by precision machines or designing web interfaces.
With the teachers mobility, we wanted to expand and strengthen our network of partners abroad to offer our students new destinations and opportunities in future mobility and improve our curriculum and methodologies after observing what they do in other institutions providing similar teachings.
The teacher who enjoyed mobility belongs to the area of ??Computers and she is also the Erasmus Coordinator. She stayed in NRC, the same institution where ASIR students were. There, through a "job shadowing" experience, she has observed firsthand how the host institution implements the curricula similar to those we have in our institution, taking note of best practices to share once she came back to our center. She might also know, through the teacher who coordinates placements in NRC, new companies with which we will cooperate in the future to send our students to make the FCT there. Finally, she signed a interinstutitional partnership between Daniel Castelao and Northern Regional College until 2020, where in addition to strengthen and enhance mutual collaboration we have so far, we intend to go a step further and begin soon the mobility of students for studies.
The mobilities have been very satisfactory for both students and for teachers, as far as the student of DAM has started to work in the company McAuley Engeneering once the mobility has finished.
