San Bartolome Salesian College has a long experience in all levels of education, from preschool to vocational training, through high school. We have always tried to give the best options to our students so that at the end of their training at our center they had a wide range of possibilities, but in recent times we emphasize the concern we feel for the decline suffered by the employability of our students Training professional, especially in higher-level vocational training.
This concern leads us to try to open other paths to specialize them in other disciplines such as language, to provide a more extensive CV and they can choose to work outside our borders or compete here with more tools.
Following this line of action, in the past year they have been three mobilities, two for students and one for staff.
Students after a selection among all candidates in all specialties with which our center, have been those that have shown greater maturity and greater possibility of use of the opportunity provided to them, being the specialties below listed, which also indicate the activities carried out:
• CFGS Electronic Maintenance: Mobility is held in the city of Cork. The student performs the FCT in a specialized in the design and implementation of electronic prototypes company, using design software and most innovative tools and expertise that we have in most companies in this sector are in our area and of course, far above what we have in the training centers.
• CFGS Maintenance of Thermal Installations and Fluids: This was held in the city of Dusseldorf, in a specialized boilers and underfloor heating company, subject, the nature of the country, is now much more developed than in Spain. This student also lived with a family and performing repairs in a private home, so learning the language was much higher.
A teacher went to Dusseldorf for 5 days to make an observation of how they performed the dual training in Germany, where this type of study is implemented long while in Spain can be said that we are taking the first steps. This mobility resulted in a meeting with educational equipment cycles to guide the first steps, because in our heart we want to implement this model in some courses for next year. During the observation made by the fellow, he was in a vocational training center, knowing how to assess and focus classes, and visiting companies where students received training, to know how this practice is evaluated.
