Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Context/background: Chalmers joined the Erasmus programme the academic year 1995/1996. The Erasmus programme at Chalmers was from the start built on cooperation between research teams between Chalmers and the partner institutions in the subject areas concerned. Chalmers has from the start chosen partners according to their quality values. Objectives: Chalmers strives after the best partners to place its students and researchers to achieve optimal exposure to the social, economic and technological challenges of today and tomorrow. Chalmers aims for active student mobility that gives added value to studies abroad at institutions with high quality in their educational and research programmes. Teaching mobility is equally important to promote cooperation between teachers and researchers, which is the base for long-term and sustainable relations. Chalmers is highly active in the development and implementation of double degrees at the master's and doctoral levels. To improve quality in teaching, Chalmers created the Learning Centre to help teachers with pedagogical methods and other tools to transmit knowledge in a better and more appealing fashion to students at all levels. This will benefit both teachers and students because the latter will get better prepared to confront the challenges that society faces every day, giving its graduates a much better ground to get fast and adequate employment. In total 228 individuals participated in the programme. The number of students was 193, the four top destinations for this group was the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Germany. Staff mobility for training had highly increased the number of participants, 29 persons participated. The top destinations for this group was Iceland and Portugal. Teaching staff mobility gathered 6 participants, the number was slightly less as applied for and the top destinations for this group was Turkey and France. In promoting staff mobility one of the activities has been to give information in a staff association for administrators, added to the information that is seen on the website and the information that is spread by returned participants. Since some years Chalmers has a tradition to arrange a breakfast meeting during the EAIE conference. On that occasion both non-European and Erasmus partners are invited, the activity is highly appreciated and does a lot good in the continued cooperation. In the constant striving for increasing the number of outgoing students we arranged two evenings in the autumn that were filled with inspiring lectures from returned exchange students, student fair, speeches by representatives from enterprises. Results and impact attained: Chalmers cooperation in various networks with strategic partners has had a positive effect on both teacher and student mobility, the cooperation has deepened. The increased internationalization has also affected other staff categories positively, e.g. staff mobility for training and also teachers who took the opportunity to teach abroad for the first time. The enriching experience that the staff members have had from their training and teaching mobilities will affect the steady work with internationalizing of our institution.
