Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Programme ?AUEB Consortium for Student Placement & Staff Mobility? is addressed to undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in carrying out a placement in companies and organizations of the European Union and to teaching & administrative staff wishing to participate in teaching & training activities. The Programme takes place with the support of the Greek National Agency and the funding of the European Commission. The main subject areas to which the AUEB Consortium originally focused were Informatics, Economics and Business Administration, while during the development of the project the subject areas were extended in similar fields, after the approval of the National Agency, in order to respond positively to the demand of students concerned. AUEB is the Consortium Coordinator and the partner institutions are: the National Technical University of Athens, the University of Ioannina, the University of Crete and the University of Macedonia. For the academic year 2014-2015, 50 places for student placement (10 per partner) and 15 places for staff mobility (3 per partner) were offered. Due to reduced student participation for placement, the Consortium requested from the National Agency a contract modification and transfer of grants from the student mobility for placement to the staff mobility for training/teaching. The request was approved and there were in total 19 student mobilities for placement, 2 staff mobilities for teaching and 48 staff mobilities for training. The academic year 2014-2015 was the first time this programme ran, what it implies about the effectiveness (in terms of absorbing funds and achieving goals), but it is considered that the overall results (i.e. impact of the programme) were very positive, because through the cooperation of the Consortium Coordinator with the partner institutions under the team spirit, economies of scale were developed, while important information on topics of expertise and best practices was exchanged in the context of peer learning. The long-term benefits of the programme include the creation of more places for internships and training or teaching abroad, involving all partner institutions, so that interested applicants, students and teaching & administrative staff, could have additional opportunities ? besides the places belonging to the Erasmus+ Programme that each institution runs individually - to participate in these very important mobility activities. Moreover, all 5 institutions concerned contributed in varying degrees to develop and further strengthen the network of partnerships with institutions and organizations abroad, establishing new links of cooperation and reinforcing existing ones for the benefit of university communities.
