From a long-term perspective, the Erasmus+ programme (particularly KA1 action, previously LLP/Erasmus) is considered the most important part of our mobility programmes portfolio and internationalization. Every year a significant number of our students and employees take the opportunity to spend some time abroad in order to gain priceless experience. This year Tomas Bata University in Zlín provided support for 69 staff for teaching mobility, 13 staff for training (which is the highest number ever recorded at TBU within the programme), 168 students for studies and 22 students for placements. The goal of Tomas Bata University in Zlín is to offer the opportunity to take part in study stays and work placements abroad to the largest possible number of its students and staff. Thanks to their international experience, students who have participated in the mobility programme have a significant advantage in the labour market. They are competitive because of the language and soft skills and self-reliance, which they learned during their stay abroad. Academics and members of staff strengthen good relations with partner universities and establish new cooperation abroad. In addition, employees become familiar with other systems of education and may apply the experience in their own work. The University puts great emphasis on the quality of implementation of this programme, which results in successful expansion of relations with institutions abroad and the enhancement of internationalization in general. TBU is aware of the need to provide support for student and staff mobility and therefore also allocates funds from its own resources. Tomas Bata University in Zlín is a globally oriented higher education institution. Thanks to Erasmus+ it has created a network of partner universities across Europe. Maintaining good international relations and enhancing the quality of mobility programmes implemented within this network is one of the priorities of the University. The selection of partner universities within the framework of the Erasmus+ is subject to approval by the University’s central management. In conclusion, we can say that the Erasmus programme (formerly LLP / Erasmus) has established a dominant position within the mobility programmes at TBU, and is considered an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth by both students and staff.
