TERMINÉ
The Universidad Complutense de Madrid has been participating in the Erasmus Programmeme since it was approved by de European Commission, back in 1987.
The international vocation of the Complutense University of Madrid is reflected in its statutes, which include among its competences and priorities: “The promotion of international mobility and exchange of teachers and students in the international domain, specifically in the context of European Higher Education Area”.
Furthermore, as reflected in the Erasmus Policy Statement, “The UCM maintains a strong interest in increasing both the quality and the number of mobilities within the Erasmus Program”
All the mobility Actions offered by Erasmus+ KA103 are implemented by UCM:
•Students mobility for Study and Internship
•Staff mobility for Teaching and Training.
Objectives:
One of the main is therefore achieved: The Erasmus Program is open to the whole Academic Community.
Other objectives:
•Increasing qualitative aspects at academic and administrative levels as well as in the services offered to participants. Main attention is focused on full integration of incoming participants/ beneficiaries, quality of information and improvement of main attention is focused on total integration of beneficiaries, quality of information and improvement of dissemination.
•Quantitative aspects: maintaining and increasing high mobility figures, paying especial attention to SMP and STT mobilities.
•Revision of partnership by means of a thorough review of all the Interinstitutional Agreements so as to ensure fruitful collaboration in order to achieve the objectives targeted.
•Contribution in order to consolidate the triangle Education–Research–Enterprise and, thus, increase the role that UCM plays in the construction of society.
Number and type/profile of participants
The Erasmus Program has allowed UCM to establish a large and profitable relationship with our Erasmus partners, representing excellent mobility opportunities for a total of 1578 UCM participants that have completed their Erasmus+ stay abroad.
UCM, as a large and comprehensive University, has a wide academic offer in almost all fields of study. This allows that 1854 participants have visited UCM in the frame of the Erasmus+ Program in the Academic Year 2014-15.
All participant countries and academic areas are well-represented both through incoming and outgoing mobilities.
.More represented countries: France, Italy, United Kingdom and Germany
.All academic areas are represented in appropriate percentages in relation to the number of students enrolled
.Disadvantaged students account for a percentage close to 25%. An additional grant has been assigned to this group.
.Attention is also given to students with Special needs through the “Office for the Integration of People with Special Needs”, both to incoming and outgoing participants.
.A total of 30 recent graduates completed a Traineeship
. Gender: Female participants account for almost 70% of the total.
Main tasks carried out in each of the actions implemented:
•Negotiation and signature of Erasmus interinstitutional agreements
•July 2014. Planning of UCM calendar for language tests and courses and publication of “advance information” containing details about language requirements and mobility offer.
•Preparation and publication of call for applications for each action
•Dissemination. Informative sessions addressed to:
1.The Erasmus Faculty Coordinators and administrative Staff
2.The students: informative meetings in each Faculty, International Fair, information on the website, personal attention, posters
3.Language accreditation: UCM Center for Modern Languages and UCM Center for Spanish (incoming students)
•Selection processes. Erasmus Committees
•Publication of assigned places via web page and Erasmus Offices at Faculties
.Nomination of students
•Informative sessions addressed to selected participants, in which former Erasmus beneficiaries provide their feedback.
•Preparation of Mobility Agreements and support from Erasmus Coordinators
•Performance, management and monitoring of mobility flows
•Academic Recognition.
UCM planned dissemination of results will be circulated within the UCM by means of:
. Informative meetings with University Stakeholders
. Web site presence
. Entries in printed and virtual UCM Publications, like “Tribuna Complutense”
. Videos with students' and teachers' testimonials
Erasmus+ Program increases internationalization exponentially by including all members of the academic and staff community. Being a transversal activity, it involves many of the different units and areas of the university, contributing to the improvement and innovation of its governance.
