Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Charpentier Academy is a private school of higher arts education. It has 200 students and was created 1945. We trains students in interior architecture / design and visual communication through dynamic pedagogy, in constant contact with the professional world. Located in the Montparnasse area, in the heart of artistic Paris, on the premises of the "Grande Chaumiere", our establishment has always bathed in an international context. It counts now about 10% of foreign students. Since 2013 we have developped the international dimension, now also with the Erasmus program following a strong demand from students. The start of the Erasmus Programme was animated by a dual ambition. On the one hand allow students wishing to work internationally to develop their skills while encouraging new methods, looking at how different cultures can enrich their future professional or transcultural practice. On the other hand, enable our education and our teachers to aim for excellence in line with the contemporary business environment, and transparency of our courses and qualifications not only at a European level but also internationally. Over time, we have developed special relationships and partnerships with various institutions in and outside Europe both from an academic and professional point of view. We always aim to further deepen the cooperation with our partners and institutions of higher education which have a reputation and a privileged expertise in our areas of expertise and also to create new contacts. We propose mobility for students from the second year of studies. 11 students chose Erasmus mobility and we have welcomed 8 Erasmus students in our school. Students from the design field have often wished to further specialize in an area that their home institution does not offer. We concluded two new bilateral agreements with institutions in Spain (Madrid and IED Barcelona IED) and a contract with the University of the Republic of San Marino which is not part of Europe. Incoming European students have benefited from our introduction week that allowed them to become familiar with our institution, the most important cultural institutions and mode of operation. We offer French lessons throughout their mobility and a support service for housing questions, insurance and various other issues.
