Higher education student and staff mobility project

The European educational exchange for students, teachers and staff, characterizes Rome University of Fine Arts (Rufa) educational offer, thanks to the participation in the Erasmus Programme since the Academic year 2011-2012, firstly, within the frame of LLP Programme , then, within the Erasmu+ Programme, since the Academic year 2014-2015. In the initial phase of the program, Rufa, disseminated, within the institution, the opportunities of the project, which was experienced by an initial number of students and teachers in mobility who promoting it toward their colleagues at their return. After that, thanks to new agreements signed with several Institutions, the interest toward the Programme has been gradually increasing, in terms of students, teachers and staff mobilities. Since the Academic year 2014-2015, Rufa has been activated the traineeship/Placement mobilities for students and recent graduated. Since the beginning of Erasmus Programme, Rufa, has focused its efforts to foster and augment Inter-istitutional agreements in European and non-European Countries, aiming to an internationalization process orientated to integration and knowledge of European context through the exchange with Partner Institutions within the frame of Fine Arts, Design and Applied Arts and new Technologies for Arts. Rufa has signed 18 Inter- institutional agreements with European Partner Institutions according to educational teachings concerning visual arts, design and applied arts focusing on with innovative projects and methodologies, with the perspective of improvement of participant?s skills, increasing of work and future professional carrier opportunities. Currently the University Partners are located in: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, UK, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey. In the academic year 2014-2015 Rufa has nominated 7 students for study mobility, 2 students for traineeship mobility, 3 teachers for teaching mobility and 2 member of the staff for training mobility. The exchanges have been orientated to create also a cooperation for international activities, international competitions and exhibitions, common projects organized by Partner Institutions in the artistic field. The main features met in student who experienced the Erasmus Programme for study and traineeship concerning a greater self-awareness, independence in the interpersonal relations, as well as a greater capacity for integration and consciousness to member of European society, on a appreciation on different cultures and on a deepening of artistic skills, based on research activity both for study and traineeship. The improvement of education and teaching has been developed thanks to staff and teachers mobility, who have started exchange activities with their colleagues, on teaching, professional and research methods. Staff mobility has allowed to know bureaucratic processes and to acquire regulations by the contact with the offices at receiving Institutions involved in Erasmus exchange, and to unify the procedures and to acquire good practices for the implementation of all mobility activities.
