Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project, intended for the mobility of students / administrative staff / academic staff, met all expectations. The total budget made available was used. To meet all the mobility demands, the projects’ budget had to be supplemented with contributions from the university and ministerial funding. The total number of the project participants were as follows; 130 students for study purposes, 46 students for traineeship, 24 administrative and academic staff for training and 5 academic staff for teaching activities. Most of the students received language training from our Language Centre, which together with the mobility experience abroad contributed greatly to improving their knowledge and language skills. Many also attended a language course (in majority of cases for Spanish) at their home University; whereas many other students were offered a free course at the chosen University, upon arrival. The opinion expressed in relation to the experience is extremely positive. The students claim to be more confident, more determined and more aware of their capacities. The overall opinion is, therefore, very good and very positive results also on the academic level as most of the students managed to achieve what was initially expected and /or agreed in the Learning Agreement. The University of Foggia, before departure, ensured full recognition of activities for all students. The mobility of staff abroad for training and teaching is organized primarily on the basis of agreements between universities. The member of staff was responsible for contacting the institute abroad and agreeing on an appropriate time for the visit, as well as a detailed work plan with the daily activities carried out during their visit. The administrative staff who went abroad prior to their mobility obtained the necessary information of their home university in order to promote their institute abroad, which provided an overview of the training and the various activities and processes offered by their institute. The academic staff presented a formal program of lectures, seminars and visits for each individual day spent abroad. The courses taught abroad during mobility are strictly related to the teaching and research area of the each academic staff. In addition, lecturers and foreign lecturers shared working methods and teaching and scientific results of the various research activities in their respective countries. This climate of interchange between universities is a breeding ground for a viable and successful cooperation. Lecturers evaluated their experience abroad as very fruitful and rewarding, because it provided them with the opportunity to broaden their horizons and explore new methods of scientific research and teaching in a highly qualified and advanced context. Beneficiary teachers promote and encourage collaboration among European universities through seminars and discussion forums with other teachers, promoting new interinstitutional agreements and increasing information channels and promotion of student mobility under the ERASMUS program.
