According to his goal, UNIMI operates also within European university partnerships with institutions having same characteristics, such as the League of European Research Universities (LERU) of which UNIMI is one of the founders and the only Italian partner.
UNIMI boasts a long-term experience in promoting and organizing European and International mobility based on a fruitful interaction between University’s departmental structures and administrative offices and on the cooperation between the offices differently involved in the whole process. In particular, the following processes are centralized and accomplished at administrative level: the processes of prepara-tion and promotion of mobility calls for application, implementation of selection procedures, tutoring of incoming and outgoing students, updating and editing of all useful information for students on mobility period arrangements and mobility procedures on the University website pages.
The objectives set within this project are the following:
1) Improving the quality and number of mobility students by enlarging the number of agreements with prestigious European institutions, widening mobility opportunities in most scientific innova-tive areas, in order to foster cutting edge knowledge development to make the University able to better face modern society challenges;
2) Connecting the world of education, research and business by enhancing intersectorial mobility of students and graduates and by increasing the mobility opportunities in order to provide concrete training and vocational opportunities able to enrich participants’ cv and competences;
3) Improving cooperation with European partner universities with the aim of increasing institutional partnerships in order to enhance new educational and scientific collaborations aimed at studying different university integration models, including international study curricula for double degrees;

On the base of the above mentioned principles, the project has focused on 4 principal mobility axis, in particular:
- Students mobility for study, within which a mobility of 841 students has been evidenced, showing a growing trend compared to previous years, underlining UNIMI central Administration efforts in computerizing Erasmus application procedures and in promoting mobility opportunities through social networks, targeted emailing, informative open-days featured for different educational fields. Moreover, a reorganization of University website’s Erasmus section has been promoted following the Bologna Process principles (prior to mobility, during mobility, after mobility);
- Students mobility for traineeship, within which a mobility of 81 students, of which 10 newly grad-uated, has underlined a growing trend, higher also than the prevision set in the signed Financial Agreement with the Erasmus National Agency, evidencing a growing interest for such profession-alizing experiences. It is here underlined the great importance that UNIMI gives to such form of mobility considering it fundamental for the completion of the training of its newly graduate stu-dents and the constant effort put in increase this form of mobility;
- Teachers Mobility for teaching, within which a constantly growing mobility of 36 professors has been evidenced, nevertheless still to be enhanced considering its relevance, for professors to improve their teaching experiences and for the institution to increase scientific and educational partnerships;
- Staff mobility for training, within which the mobility remain still low (8 persons) involving mainly personnel from administrative offices and technical staff from the departments. There is full awareness that this form of mobility must be enhanced considering its value for the professional growth of the staff.
