Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The educational concept of the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar strives to enable graduates to compete and to meet the challenges of the international music business. They should be prepared to preserve music as a very important part of human culture at the highest level possible and to hand it over to the next generation. In order to achieve this, they need commitment, a sense of responsibility, team spirit and intercultural competencies. In addition, the educational conception includes a clear statement and declaration of the internationalization of education. To implement this conception international cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, exchanges of ideas, research results as well as common artistic and scientific projects are indispensable. During activities like these students and teachers get insight into the high standards and wide range of music in higher education, performance and transmission. Internationalization allows them to compare their own performance in all fields with the standards in different countries and is the basis for raising the high quality of education in their own institution. The contact with different cultures, lifestyles and languages builds trust and understanding for other nations and their characteristics, enables them to get more deeply into different music cultures, methods and pedagogical concepts and is at the same time inspiration for creative work. The project KA103 2014 was motor and basis of the mobility of students as well as teaching and administration staff. Without the financial support and the idea of a European education system by the ERASMUS+ programme it wouldn't have been possible to send fourteen students abroad into nine different countries and another twenty-one staff members into ten countries. All of them reported a great benefit from their mobility projects. In addition these activities led to an increase of reputation of the university.
