Higher education student and staff mobility project
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The ending Project was the first that Escola Universitária Vasco da Gama took, in the context of the new Erasmus+ program. Its main objectives were, as a Learning Mobility Project of individuals that it is, to promote the mobility of Individuals (Students, Faculty and Staff) within Europe, increasing the sharing of practices and the acquisition of knowledge in contexts nationally and culturally different. In this Project were executed ten (10) mobilities: two (2) for studies (SMS), six (6) for placements, and two (2) of staff for training (STT). The results achieved in this project are within the results recorded in previous years. There was, however, a greater demand for support in mobility for Placements. This is due to a growing students’ awareness about the importance of professional experience abroad, not only as a professional added value, but also for curriculum purposes. The confirmation of this is visible by the number of mobilities completed with Grant zero. Regardless of their importance or immediate dimension, at a broader level, all mobilities may have direct and indirect impacts, which are not always possible to reach or scale. Nevertheless, all practices shared in contexts that are nationally and culturally different from ours, have immediate gains in the behavior of professionals and future professionals who benefit from as well as the people who will be directly related to them In this in specific Project, we underline the importance of having the opportunity to send for training a researcher, to acquire skills that will come to be reflected in scientific research in such emerging fields as regenerative medicine and Tissue Engineering. Although not always directly or immediately measurable, this can, by its nature, become worldwide impactful, in the medium term. Overall, it can be said that the fulfillment of the objectives laid out in the Erasmus Charter are being partially fulfilled, since it still hasn’t been possible to promote some of the foreseen initiatives. We also feel the need of further work in promoting mobility for Teaching, in order to fulfill some objectives, such as, greater sharing of experiences, scientific and pedagogical practices of Escola Universitária Vasco da Gama, across borders. However, we consider the results satisfactory, both in terms of absolut number of mobilities, and the creation of links between higher education, research and business, to promote the creation of best professionals and researchers.
