Heritage: European Identity
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project is called HEI, which stands for Heritage: European Identity. These three words sum up the main objective of our project clearly. The concept of heritage has changed in Europe throughout time. Traditional and cultural values form a part in our lives. Cultural competence, language skills and social interaction are completely related to our national and international heritage both in Europe and in the world and this heritage defines us as Eupoean citizens giving us an intrinsic identity our students need to know to adapt better to their present and future world. We want our participants to understand the importance of lifelong learning, the use of ICT and the positive aspects of multilingualism as a direct means of increasing their autonomy in life. This heritage will make them comprehend themselves better and working on its different varieties will help them improve as self-conscious citizens, getting to know their origins and at the same time its cultural implications. We aim to make students aware of their identity as European citizens and the working and social conditions they might face and have to cope with in a more and more European future and also provide them with tools and an understanding of how they can build their own future. We believe that the more our participants are familiar with the current and past realities surrounding them, the less fearful they will be. Their work on heritage will let them know how they can manage their inclusion into an international world. Getting to know and overcoming their cultural differences will have a great effect on our students. Learning activities: There will be a mobility of 60 students and 6-18 teachers throughout the whole project and a higher number of people will be involved in the homecountries where the workshops and activities happen. We estimate an approximate number of indirect participants of 600 people, taking into consideration families and friends, local companies and organizations, communication media, administrative and maintenance school workers and students from the schools where the exchange takes place with more or less difficulties. Activities: IT - we have already created a contact group for teachers via email and facebook for teachers to pass on information, a project website will be created too. Parents evenings at every school, a colleagues’ meeting after the exchanges to present the outcomes, and articles feeding the local press and TV will be delivered. Website: a website is going to be created which will contain all the findings taking place in the exchange activities and the workshops. Exchanges activities and workshops: there will be three exchanges, one in every country. They will write reports about their visits on heritage and they will capture this reality with photos and videos which will be uploaded on the website; They will also work on the making of a brochure and adverts about heritage. They will make workshops to teach their exchange students real examples and practices of their immaterial cultural heritage and they will take part in a gymkana to evaluate the knowledge they have acquired and to experince one more time the need to work with foreing people as something possible in their future. The methodology to be used in carrying out the project: visits in partner countries with students and teachers, contact with locals and their families who act as hosts, presentation of the results of these interviews; presentation of the findings at school; presentation of results at the project website, creation of videos, brochures and adverts and a dynamic and active methodology through the gymkana. Results: Awareness of the European identity as European citizens, possibilities within the limits of Europe, broadening cultural competence, giving importance to the value of school education and future working opportunities. After the workshop, our students will have gained knowledge about European citizenship, about reasons to finish their school education, gained security when dealing with foreign nationalities (language, behavior, cultural competence). IT compentence: students and teachers improve presentational skills, modern media treatment, running a website; the creation of a audiovisual material. The students may take first steps in comparing cultures and developing motivation for learning. Long-term benefits: international friendships will make Europe peaceful. The motivation to work abroad will rise. IT skills will be spread and reasons for finishing the school years will be obvious for the participants.
