The "Evangelischen Freiwilligendienste Diakonie Hessen" (the former "Zentrum für Freiwilligen-, Friedens- und Zivildienst") started in 2001 with EVS projects. The project Hephata sport is in the second year. The volunteers are commanded to gain insight into the health work in sports with disabled people to develop within the possibilities for personal and professional the opportunity. The volunteers can use various creative methods to get involved with their motivation, ideas and skills in their own sports projects that are advised locally. Technically interesting are the content segments of the physiotherapeutic health concern, the daily structuring, sports tournaments as well as their preparation and logistical implementation. Due to the public nature of tournament events (for example Special Olympics) with numerous visitors transparency is made in the work in the disability, thereby ensuring integrative and inclusive preparatory.Due to the presence of other EU and national volunteers in mission control centers and residential areas there is the possibility to get to know other young people and to deal thematically. The project is supported with education and event offerings.
