According to Kanser.gov.tr data, the type of cancer that is seen in women both in our country and in the world is the breast cancer. In our country, 40.7 of every 100.000 women has breast cancer as the second closest cancer type Thyroid Cancer has a rate of 16.2 in 100.000 and the cancer type with the third biggest rate, Colorectal cancer’s rate is 13.2 in 100.000. Besides another reality of our country is that, the women in our country gets breast cancer 10 years younger than the European women, as the mean age for breast cancer is 61-62, it is 51-52 in our country. Far bigger roles falls on the nurses on the surgical interventions for breast cancer, which has 2.5 times higher risk than the second most risky cancer type, than the other surgical interventions in general. This cancer type that is seen at an organ which represents womanhood and motherhood affects women psychologically much more than other diseases. Therefore, it is really important that the nurses have a higher level of knowledge on the preparation stage for surgical operations and also the post-operational care. The reason we want to implement our project is to send our nursing students to attend internships to improve themselves on preparation for breast cancer operation and post operational care, due to the facts given above. With this, our students will experience improvements in terms of knowledge and skills on preparation for breast cancer operation and post operational care and will increase the success rate of the operations and also improve their skills to improve the life quality of the patient out of the surgery. 45 students will be selected from the 11 th and 12 th grades of nursing area will be selected from our consortium. Due to the internships that our students will have in our project, the cultural, professional and language wise transformation of our students will make them more quality individuals and also will increase their chance of employment in a great way. Also, they will be able to serve the foreigners that come to our country for health tourism in a far better way. An increase in self-respect will also be increased in our students. With our project, in our school the road that has been opened about EU projects last year will be followed and the manager and vocation capacities of our schools will increase. The vocation skills that our teachers will get in these kinds of projects will be given to our students and a better vocational education will be possible to be given in our school. With our project, awareness raising activities will be carried out on breast cancer and we will stand next to our women in the fight against the most serious cancer type for our women and we will inform them on this. Our project will be managed with activities that expand among the project such as planning, organization-implementation-monitoring-dissemination and evaluation and all our teachers will undertake roles in these management activities. All the activities will be bound to each other and support each other and by taking support from our home partners too, we will carry out a healthy project as being worthy of our old name, vocational health high school.
