The project involves 5 organizations. These are: Polish Medical Mission - acting as the sending organization, host and coordinating Down Syndrome association - the host organization, Gaudium et Spess - the host organization and 2 sending organization - Europanet and NGO Iskra. Participants in project are young people aged between 22 and 28 years old. They are enthusiastic, interested in other cultures, wishing to increase their knowledge and use the time on a project to assist a person in a difficult situation. The main objectives of the project are: dialogue and international cooperation mobility and education active participation in social life help the needy and strengthen attitudes of tolerance towards minorities and diversity promotion of volunteer work Volunteers for 12 months will cooperate with a professional staff of 3 organizations where their main duties will include: - Support and care for people in difficult circumstances, sick, disabled people and their families. - Promotion of volunteering - Participation in meetings with local community - Educational campaigns The project should contribute to an increase in awareness among the local community on various forms of voluntary work and enhance the awareness of active citizenship. Will contribute to draw attention to problems such as: exclusion, discrimination, disability, poverty. The new challenges with take volunteers, will become an impulse to discover new qualities in themselves, acquire new skills and expand their knowledge. Getting to know new cultural environment, traditions, daylive and the problems will affect the strengthening of openness and understanding among all project participants.
