During 12 months, 8 volunteers from Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal will be hosted by ASK ME and involved in the „Healthy is the new trend!” project. They will create and implement activities for aprox. 40 children and teenagers in social services care, aprox. 100 drug addicted young adults and aprox. 400 children from schools and kindergarten in Bucharest. The aim of the project is to create strategic educative actions, using non formal methods to promote a healthy life style for increase the „immunity ” of the target group against addiction. The project objectives are: -to offer EVS volunteers the proper frame for experimenting the work as specialised educator in addiction prevention using unconventional and nonformal methods -to inform, to increase the awareness of local comunity about the different types of addiction issues and risks for young generations at both local and European level. -to promote among social assistance system new and modern methodologies about addiction prevention at the level of assisted children and teenagers. An important dimension of activities will be focused on promoting among youth democratic values, activ citizenship and voluntary attitude. These activities, together with a series of training courses and working methods will provide to the young EVS volunteers the opportunity to develope their social-educative animator competences. In addition, the working methodology of the project will help the volunteers to gain and develop management and entrepreneurship competences.
