The craft of gunsmithing is a member of the world's cultural heritage. Under these circumstances you may look at the "higher technical department of weapon technology and safety issues" as an educational institute for a craft, which has its anchor in the middle of the world. The education at the HTL Ferlach follows a curriculum that has been negotiated before and where a lot of ideas representing the artificial side of this craft can be found.Internationality is an important concept in our modern times, which stresses all of us to networking in order to occupy new fields of knowledge. Internationality is a main issue for Ferlach lasting back 20 years. Since that time we are sending students to educational institutes abroad. On the other hand we act as an receiving institute offering ecucation to foreign students.In October 2016 and 2017 we wil send 10 students to the school we cooperate with, the COPT (SŠ-Centrum odborné přípravy technické Uherský Brod), they will stay there for two weeks. They will be involved in theoretical and practical tasks in the field of weapon technology. Additionally they will visit famous companies manufacturing hunting rifles. They will also fall into the social and cultural life beside the sometimes crucial working day. The technical issues offer the beckground, the meeting of young people of different nations may be assumed to be the most important argument for making projects like this.The activities will be done together with their friends from Uhersky Brod. The young fellows should learn from each other, friendships for the whole life are a main objective within this project.This project might be regarded a the second part of a four weeks programme. The students from Uhersky Brod will be in Ferlach in autumn 2016 and 2017, they will stay for two weeks and they are going to work, visit companies and learn about the social and cultural life. After that our students join them and travel to Uhersky Brod to continue with the working process.Sometimes the students should act as teachers and show their foreign friends how to behave when you want to manufacture certain weapon parts. In Ferlach they will produce a spring which delivers the energy for starting the trigger which hits the firing pin which causes the shot.
