Date du début: 31 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our school is located in a small town in the outskirts of Bilbao and there are students with a medium-low social and economical level, including a 25% of immigrants. Taking these characteristics into account the school projects have always been directed to get the students integration and help them with school work. The main objective is to create a participative school where not only students and teachers, but also parents, social services and volunteers take an active part. Most of them are after-school activities and they offer help for the school work, leisure activities, sports, following up activities and individual actions directed to the students who need them. This course we have decided to give our students a new opportunity to increase their possibility of being successful, opening a door to a more International school; we have implemented the multilingual project. A variety of activities in English have been carried out in different subjects and we are working in a project (European Landmarks) in Etwinning. Besides, 19 members of the staff are taking courses for learning English. The school needs now are to improve the language competence of the teachers and to make contacts in order to start new European projects. Our aims are to take learning courses to get this language competence and to offer the entire school community a centre open to Europe. The people selected for taking part in the learning mobility courses are: - Natural Science teacher, who will take part in the Multilingual project teaching her subject in English. She will take a two-week course, ‘General English Fluency’, in Dublin, organized by the Atlas Language School. Her aims are to improve her language competence and to make contacts with other European teachers for future collaboration through eTwinning. - English teacher, who will teach English to the students in the Multilingual project. She will take a two-week course, ‘Modern British culture’, in London, organized by the British Studies Centres School of English. The aims are to improve her language competence and to enrich her knowledge about modern British culture. She will gain a variety of new teaching ideas and materials to be used in the classroom with her students. She will also have the opportunity of making contact with other teachers for future projects. School counselor, who needs to know new techniques and methods to improve her work with students having special difficulties facing the learning process, and to learn and share projects from other schools. She will take the course 'Activate your English for teaching' in order to improve her language competence to be able to take part in training courses and cooperative projects in other European centres. The Project has been designed by the Pedagogical Coordination Committee and, to select the participants, they have taken into account their motivation, level of English and involvement in the different projects of the school, mainly the multilingual one. The selected teachers, together with the Headmistress and the responsible of the local Centre for Training and Innovation (Berritzegune) have been in charge of the selection of the courses and the contacts needed to choose the most appropriate course and, when necessary, to agree on the contents to adjust them to the teacher’s needs. The expected impact of this project on the teachers who participate in the mobility activities will be the improvement in their professional competences and the increase of motivation in their teaching activity, with different perspectives. The students will get the benefit of having better qualified teachers, a greater appreciation of different cultures in Europe and the possibility of taking part in new projects through eTwinning. The rest of the staff will also be more motivated to go on with their training and start new projects with other European schools. Besides, through the Centre for training and Innovation we will be able to share our experience with other schools in our area. In conclusion, this is the start of a new path that we are sure will have a direct impact on the development of our multilingual project, with the subsequent improvement of our students’ competences not only in language but also in culture and attitude, which is, undoubtedly, our final aim.
