(H)eerlijke organisatie van feesten en evenementen
Date du début: 1 janv. 2016, Date de fin: 31 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

With the project HOF (fair organisation of parties and events) the Youth Department of the municipality of Mol, Youth House Tydeeh and Hall of Fame want to organise a group exchange on the topic of sustainable festivals/events for and organised by youngsters. Goal of the project is that the participating youth will collect ideas and practical information and that they can develop the necessary competences so they understand what a sustainable event is and know what steps they have to undertake to make their event sustainable. The international dimension of the project ensures that the youngsters will meet and respect each other's background and culture. In addition, there is sufficient attention to self-development during the project: participating youth learn what they want to learn, which competences they want to develop and they learn to recognise and articulate this development to themselves and others. To achieve these goals, a group of 40 youngsters (20 Belgian young people (experienced in the organisation of sustainable events and festivals) and 20 Dutch youngsters (partly participants with fewer opportunities, active in Hall of Fame, so experienced in the organisation of events) together with 5 group leaders will participate at a five-day-long group exchange in Tilburg. The first two days of the exchange will be together with Festival Mundial, a sustainable event in Tilburg. During the group exchange, a mix of activities with a link to a sustainable organisation of festivals will be set up. There will be different kind of visits (to Festival Mundial, to a sorting company of textiles (use of recuperation material), to a biological farm, to Incubate (organisator of a sustainable festival), Solar Cinema (a mobile cinema that works on solar energy), ...), workshops (vegetarian cooking, serigraphy, ...) but the youngsters themselves also have to organise some activities (a stand on Festival Mundial, organising an evening activity, sharing own experiences on organising sustainable events/festivals, ...).Thanks to the group exchange the participants will implement the conclusions of the exchange in the organisation of their own events in the future or will undertake little steps that are necessary to make their events more sustainable. The youngsters will get to know each other's background and culture by living together. In this way they will recognise and learn to respect the differences and similarities in each other's culture. This will be strengthened by the frivolous evening activity that the youngsters will develop themselves: the intercultural quiz. The group exchange will have a lot of attention for self-development and the development of important competences such as entrepreneurship, creativity, digital competences, speaking in group, working together, ... The participating youth will be well prepared on this topic of the group exchange. In advance we will think together on learning to learn and on which competences they want to develop during the group exchange. During the exchange, a daily evaluation/reflection moment will be organised. Youngsters can reflect individually or in group on their gained competences. The last day of the group exchange a large reflection moment is planned. On this occasion the documents for the Youthpass certificate will be filled in together. The participants will go home with a better view on their own competences and they can articulate this too. On the long term period the partnership wants to set up an international youth initiative (maybe together with other organisations of other programme countries). In this project the youngsters will write a guide on how to organise a sustainable event. The guide has to be accessible for other youngster so they can use it easily. The guide will contain practical examples, tips and clear illustrations. The participating youth will promote this guide themselves to other youngsters/youth organisations/youth movements and will take care of the dissemination of the knowledge gained through the project.
