'' Beauty and Hair Care Practices in European Countries'' project is intended for 20 girls attending to 10 th and 11th grade classes of Beauty and Hair Care Services Department at Anamur Valide Sultan Vocational and Technical High School. There will be 1 vocational education teacher in charge of the branch courses of the department and 1 English language teacher responsible for the vocational foreign language courses will be accompanying to these students. Today, people's socio-rise in the economic level and joining in the social life particularly by working of the women in modern society,increased the demands for cosmetic products and the treatments made for beautification.By the influence of the fashion and media ,the importance given to the appreance has been increasing.Accordingly that effects the demand for that professions related with beauty and haircare.The rapid development of the profession creates a major employment in this area, and the need for the qualified employees with high knowledge and skills has been increasing.However in our district or nearby towns,there isn’t another institution except our school giving vocational education at the secondary level.Before Beauty and Haircare Department was opened in our school ,that demand for employees was met by the Vocational Education Center raising apprentices and Public Adult Education Centers giving short period courses.So the professionals in the sector are mostly low educated people working with short term obtained certificates.The beauty and haircare professionals being grown up at our school are expected to keep the standarts forward as being educated and trained by qualified teachers.The hairdressing managements are being demanded following the innovations and technological trends,leading to differences in their services,caring their clients and providing private alternatives for them ;environmentally friendly,and different with both interior and exterior design, always ready to update themselves. As an organization that trains professionals for the sector, we want to raise our standards through international cooperation in the European dimension. We aim to educate hairdressing professionals with high knowledge and skills both at national and international level as they will have graduated with a masters degree and commercial licence.To achieve that goal,through our collaboration with the partner organizations in Holland and Germany,training activities will be carried out with 20 participants between the dates 10/07/2015-30/07/2015.Thus, according to the training programme prepared by partner institutions ,our participants will be able to practice the hairdressing subjects they already know theoretically such as, room preparation and hygiene, hair design, customer relations, hair cutting, hair styling,hair coloring, hair and scalp massage, braiding, and bride hair models.They will not only be informed about styling and coloring but also hygiene,herbals and chemicals,operating capacity,and the modern technological devices used.The resulting gains will be tried to apply in our country,in our district and at our school. Our aims: * To increase our cooperation with institutions in Europe. * To identify our missing parts in vocational training at European dimension and ensure these deficiencies to be fulfilled; * To improve professional and personal skills of our Beauty and Haircare department students and vocational course teacher and English teacher by training at the international level. * To develop the participants' professional foreign language and their entrepreneurial skills; * To ensure applicability of the obtained achievements in our school and district. Expected results: *The quality of the vocational education thus and charming of vocational education will rise. *The self confidence and and success of girls will go up and thus will provide motivation for higher education. *Early school leaving rate will be reduced. *The achievements will be disseminated through meetings and seminars with related institutions.Thus education,employment and labor relations will be strengthened. * The hairdressing professionals will be grown up in Eurpean standards ,having both national and international competences with high skills and knowledge. The project was planned as 12 months .The mobility will take place in Holland and Germany between the 10-30 July 2016 and will last 3 weeks.During first week there will be orienteering courses ,theoretical trainings ,visits to vocational institutions and museums where as the last 2 weeks will be planned as observation and practical training both at the hairdressers' at school and enterprices in the sector.The budget of our project is 43,543 euro.
