Growing together

Project "Growing together" is an opportunity for four young, 18-30 years old, persons to take initiative to discover, experience and grow through activities in Lithuania Kolping Society's kindergarten and youth community, and living in a different culture. This project is carried out by Spanish organization AFAIJ and Romania organization CVCN, which will send two persons each to Lithuania Kolping Society organisation, where they carry out their 11 months service. Association LITDEA is coordinating this project. It will start in September 2016.The volunteers will be involved in daily activities of the hosting organization - helping in the kindergarten for children of 2-4 years, taking part in Kolping community seminars, children and youth camps, help in events for young people, meetings, social festivals. The volunteers will be encouraged to implement his/her ideas and initiatives, will learn Lithuanian language, will practice English skills, will share experience with other organizations and communities. Project is useful and valuable because the young persons will learn how to educate children and youth in an appropriate way. This project aims to motivate young people to go for new experiences, to practice self-independence and to develop their openness towards other people and experience.For sending and hosting organizations as well as for coordinating organisation participation in this project means possibility for positive inter-cultural experience, which will increase awareness, solidarity, tolerance of its members. The project will raise motivation for development, will train different skills, expand the horizons. It will be a unique possibility for hosting organization to develop its activities in the volunteering field. It is also an opportunity for organizations to assess experience they already gained or to acquire completely new EVS experience, improve their work quality. It will strengthen the already existing cooperation and will create new relationships. Organizations will learn and share their good practice what work methods and principles are best to achieve quality in the educational process.The volunteer will be invited to take part in EVS events, to share the experience of volunteering, to spread the idea of volunteering and to inspire other young people to become volunteers. So, the volunteers will have an opportunity to spend their time meaningfully while giving it to others. The volunteer will take part in different meetings and seminars on volunteering and non-formal education topic, as well as specifically on disability topic, where he/she will reflect on his/her experience, consolidate the results and will evaluate his/her achievements with the help of "Youthpass certificate".
