Group leaders for international projects
Date du début: 1 janv. 2015, Date de fin: 31 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

VJF is a nonprofit association with the aim of spreading the ideas of the international volunteer's movement. VJF organizes short-term international Youth Exchanges (workcamps in particular) and long-term volunteer projects such as EVS and weltwärts and is also in charge of the Ecological Gap Year for German volunteers in Berlin. VJF provides the two European volunteers with interesting and diverse activities, especially work with juvenils during the international workcamps. The volunteer service will take place in Berlin and during the camps all over Germany. They will be able to work on their own, but will be guided and supported by the members of VJF and the local project partners. The volunteers can come up with their own creative ideas and suggestions regarding the planning and carrying out of the participant's freetime activities in the project and meeting venue of VJF and during the workcamps. Consequently, by using methods of non-formal education and participative approaches, the volunteers can develop intercultural and communicative competences, improve their organisation skills and gain an extensive insight into the international volunteer work. Mainly, the volunteers from Italy and Ukraine will be in charge of the preparation and leading of international youth exchanges (especially workcamps). Thus, they will gain personal insights into the daily live and work of the local population and can enrich the projects with an international perspective and work against prejudices and discrimination. They will get sensitized to European questions and issues and will be encouraged to show further commitment as a multiplier of cultural diversity even after their volunteer service. Moreover, the volunteers will be offered opportunities for further individual actions and chances for personal development. The volunteers can get involved in the network of the Berlin Pankow youth clubs in order to work on different projects (public relations for national and international volunteer services, or seminars/ trainings/ exchanges on special topics) together with other national and international volunteers and members of the youth clubs. The international prospects and the benefits of European mobility programs can thus locally be passed on through personal exchange in Germany and in their home countries directly to their personal networks. Furthermore through their contacts during international meetings, seminars and work camps during their EVS an exchange at European and international level can also be achieved, by which in addition to the publications on the European Youth Portal and other media forms a wide audience can be reached.
