Greenalise: the Euregion edition
Date du début: 1 janv. 2015, Date de fin: 26 mai 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The main objective of Greenalise: the Euregion Edition is to motivate youngsters to live a sustainable lifestyle and use that as a foundation to making the Euregion Meuse Rhine More Sustainable. In one week, the youngsters had the opportunity to discover sustainability from a regional and European perspective by visiting the three main cities in the region, namely Maastricht, Aachen and Liege. During these different visits as well as during our activities, the youngsters learnt to talk, debate and present sustainability related topics - such as water and waste management, sustainable entrepreneurship, energy management and the food transition movement - not only by analysing their own country but also by debating with other participants about the solutions that have been implemented in their country. By implementing the idea of learning through learning, we gave the youngsters the opportunity to share and improve their knowledge by asking them what they wanted to do during this exchange. Therefore the topics have been chosen by the youngsters themselves and the trainers had to actively engage in this process of sharing new knowledge through various ressources such as online platforms, meetings with local political leaders and people responsible for the sustainability policies at the universities and local organizations. At the end of the week, the youngsters had the opportunity to show local stakeholders and other interested people what they discovered throughout the week by organizing a conference in Maastricht. The core of this project is therefore one the one hand a inter-cultural exchange and on the other hand a new way to give participants the opportunity to share and gather new perspectives and knowledge by learning from each other. To conclude this week wasn't only focusing on sustainability. Although youngsters learnt more insides around the issue of sustainability today through non-formal activities, they also discovered new countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany) and their local culture, traditions, food and visions about sustainability today and tomorrow.
