GREEN WHEELS - Operation, repair and service of hybrid and electric cars

Project Green Wheels addresses some of the long-term strategic objectives of EU education and training policies objectives defined by The Education and Training 2020 work programme, namely improving the quality of education and enhancing innovation in education. The project aims to create blended learning materials in the emerging field of Operation, repair and service of hybrid and electric vehicles, by using innovative methods such as Flipped classroom, Peer Instructions, CLIL, Inquiry-based Learning,etc. The project intends to develop a new professional curriculum using EU criteria (ECVET-EQAVET) designing competencies for Operation, repair and service of hybrid and electric vehicles through work-based learning materials using innovative methodology. The projects will create tangible and intangible results such as: complex online learning management system (LMS), worksheets for practical training, CLIL based worksheets, online teachers and students forum, online picture based dictionary in 4 languages. The project aims to establish guidelines for ECVET system in the VET in the automotive industry of hybrid and electric vehicles in the project countries (the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary and the United Kingdom). Finally, the project focuses on training the teachers in using the new innovative methods and creating a network of mentors and trainers that will spread this methodology to more schools outside the project partners. The project will primarily make an impact on VET providers in automotive industry so that their graduates would improve the skills missing in this sector and on professional motor industry companies that will have more skilled workforce. The project results will be disseminated to a wide range of stakeholders inside and outside the project countries to increase sustainability and adaptability of project results.
