Gondomar Opportunity for Local Development of Youth
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

"Gondomar Opportunity for Local Development of Youth - GOLD You" is a project mainly focused on sustainable development, because we are a youth association related with Nature, Environment and Science. Thus, we aim to raise awareness on young people about sustainable development issues, and to promote discussion about good and bad practices, in local level, towards this issue. At the same time, we considered it was important approach other issues of great concern like Youth Participation and European Citizenship, and we find its possible to gather efforts and work on these two subjects in this project. Moreover, there are two main priority fields behind this project: inclusion and active participation of young people and those with fewer opportunities, in local and European activities, boosting youngsters with new experiences and knowledge; and awareness for sustainable development issues at all levels. In order to have a greater impact with this project, and to reach more people from our community, we established good partnerships with local public organs that have great influence in our town: the Municipality of Gondomar and the Parish of Gondomar (S. Cosme), Valbom and Jovim. These are public institutions that have a very strong social and educational role within the community and are mainly focused in young people and that is why these partnerships represent a great support for good practices in the social and educational area, and also in youth work. We consider these partnerships a plus to our project because it will reach more people and have great impact and it will allow us to promote bigger activities gathering the efforts and knowledge of the institutions. In order to accomplish this, we want to host two volunteers in our Institution (Geoclube), one in our Office of Gondomar Highschool and one in our Office in CINDOR - Professional Training Center FOR Industry of Gold and Watch and organize events together as weal as in a individual way. Objectives of this project: - Raise awareness towards sustainable development issues; - Promote active participation of young people at local level; - To identify youth issues in their communities and solutions for this issues; - Raise conscience about the importance of National and European citizenship; - Promote voluntarism as an added value to improve inter-cultural knowledge and experiences; - Promote Erasmus+ and its priorities among Portuguese youngsters, specially young students from this Highschool, CINDOR - Professional Training Center FOR Industry of Gold and also among our local community. Our aims and objectives are clearly in line with the priorities and objectives of the Erasmus+, promoting the active citizenship among young people, by fostering the participation of youngsters in local and national decisions and activities, as well as the participation at the European level. Emphasis will be given to the exchange of entrepreneurial and non-formal educational practices and networking among the partners. By working on issues of common concern and promoting the share of inter cultural and inter generational experiences, we are also fostering mutual understanding between participants from different countries. Special attention will be given to the inclusion of volunteers with fewer opportunities, encouraging them to be active and to participate in every process of the project, and promoting their integration on a different country and a different culture. Moreover, this EVS project will contribute to the development of the quality of support systems in the youth field, because they are directly related to the promotion of active citizenship of the youngsters. By encouraging their participation at a local level, this will reflect on the improvement of their support systems, creating new opportunities for youth activities involving civil society organizations. This project will take place in Gondomar, from July 2015 until June 2016, with 2 volunteers from Italy and Romania.
