GÖÇ MASALLARI (MIGRATION STORIES)

"Migration Stories"" is a youth exchange project which has been held between 1-8 February 2015 by Eskisehir Youth Center Project Group. As known, Bulgars and Turks have an important historical backround who had suffered from migration which occured during World War I. Mentioned backround left traces with painful stories. Unfortunately memories which passed through previous generations caused stereotypes and prejudices. Thats why, Migration Stories brought together the young people of mentioned folks and support them to understand each other better by looking from the same perspective. Migration Stories, brought 22 young people from Bulgaria and Turkey. Economiccally disadvantaged young people had a priorty to attent the project and gender balance considered. All the working methods were based on non formal education methodology. According to this, participants attended sub group workshops, simulations, role plays, discussion groups and all the participants supported to show an active participation. In the end of the activities, participants are expecteed to have the ability to keep distance from their own stereotypes and prejudices. Participants added value to their social development by having intercultural awareness to the differences, having tolerance instead of standing in conflicts. Beside all those aspects, oiur project also will have long term effects. It is believed that all those mentioned aspects will effect future of the participants in labour market and in terms of professional life.
