Glocal change through Culture and Art

GLOCART ( Glocal Change through Art and Culture ) is a bilateral youth exchange which involved 26 Sardinian and Polish young people aged between 18 and 25 years and 4 group leaders. Activities took place in Gavoi, a small town located in the heart of Barbagia (Sardinia) in October 2015 and consisted of forums of discussion, role playing, workshops, round tables, volunteering activities, street arts, team building activities, photographic researches, readings and multicultural evenings. Art, creativity and culture had a central role in the implementation of the project such as privileged tools in the European and global challenges of social inclusion, reduction in the rate of youth unemployment and active citizenship . The main output is a wall painting representing in a creative way the global problems faced by Sardinian and Polish young people and the change toward a better world through local actions. General objectives of the project were: * to promote active European and global citizenship; * to promote the employability of young people, improving their skills and increasing their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship; * to promote social inclusion and increase the self-esteem of young people with fewer opportunities; * to encourage the participation of young people in decision-making Its specific objectives were: * to contribute in a creative way to the information and education of young people and the whole community in terms of social inclusion; * to inform young people about job and funding opportunities in the cultural and artistic fields, stimulating with creativity their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship; * to encourage the community and young people to "think European / global and act local"; * to encourage young people to be, through culture and art, promoters of change. The methods used were non-formal, creative, innovative, participatory and based on learning by doing.
