Globalt, digitalt och hållbart!
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Hjalmar Strömerskolan is an upper secondary school in northern Jämtland. The school has 322 students in 12 national programs. The school has participated in international activities throughout the years, but sees a need for better and clearer structure and coordination of the school's internationalization efforts. This is to be able to steer towards the goal we want to reach and effective dissemination of results, knowledge and experience of internationalization. Furthermore, the school needs to develop teaching methods so that we will have digital classrooms with large element of ICT tools and a project- and problem-based learning. The school's work on sustainable development as an all-embracing umbrella under which our operations are requiring better understanding of what sustainable development and education for sustainable development means and how to work with these issues in the classroom. The objectives of the project are to: • Develop teaching methods and approaches (digital classroom) • Increase the use of modern technology (ICT) and project- and problem-based learning in teaching • Be able to integrate sustainable development and ESD in our school • Increase awareness of how education is conducted and differ between countries • Accomplish broader understanding of methods, strategies and systems in European education • Obtain a new perspective on teaching and the organization, as well as new knowledge to convert into practical action. We apply for job shadowing in Krakow, Poland for five people. Two will participate in a conference and 16 will have the opportunity to attend courses. The project encompasses 23 people, one of whom is the Headmaster. The project period is two years. During our job shadowing, we want to focus on how to use ICT in teaching various topics and how to work with sustainable development. Our courses and conferences also have focus on sustainable development and ICT and how to create a digital classroom Course participants will gain practical experience of working with various ICT tools and how to work with sustainable development in their classrooms so that active citizens are created. Those who will participate in the project are selected on the basis of a written application stating why they want to participate and how they intend to disseminate their knowledge and experience inside and outside our organization. Participants will be given the time to implement the tasks the organizers sent out prior to the course and to prepare information materials to inform other students and colleagues in Krakow. We will work with our partner school in Krakow for arranging travel, accommodation and insurance for participants who are job shadowing. When carrying out the activity, there will be a responsible teacher at the partner school organizing a program, helping them to inform and following up what they have done. We will also have a preparatory meeting before the job shadowing takes place. In addition, we establish a contract between the schools which specifies what rights and obligations each school has. For those who go on courses and conferences we also arrange travel and insurance, and if necessary accommodation (it is usually included in the outline). Host organizations are responsible for drawing up an application and issue a certificate of participation and in some cases Europass documents. The expected outcome of the project is that we have employees who can coordinate our internationalization efforts so that the work is aimed at the set targets and has a good spread in- and outside school walls. Another expected result is that we have teachers who can work in a digital classroom, who have learned to use various ICT and can work with project- and problem based methods in their teaching. Last but not least, we expect that teachers can integrate education for sustainable development in their teaching. Another result is a larger international network of contacts that we can work with in other contexts. In the longer term, we want the school to have international activities and projects as a natural part of our daily work, to learn together with colleagues in other countries should be seen as natural as going on a course and or conference in Sweden.
