AIESEC is a youth driven organization with more than 60.000 volunteer members spread around more than 110 countries. Having as main aim “Peace and Fulfillment of human kind potential”, we are running national and international projects aims to develop young people through international experiences and leadership opportunities. We believe that young people are the ones who has the determination and power to change the world for the better. That is why through our projects we develop young people ability to understand community problems and come up with a viable solutions to solve them. We also develop young people ability to lead the change they what to see in their local communities. The Global Volunteers project contains two main elements, cultural diversity and European citizenship. this project allows volunteers from Slovenia and abroad to work together for a common goal, during this process they will determine the ideal characteristic of the European society and what are the best case practices. This opportunity offers youths from around the world to take an active role within society and make a difference and shape the future that they want. We are seeking 3 international candidates that are willing to challenge themselves and rise above the many challenges they will face throughout this projects and in the future. The project aims to create 40 volunteering opportunities in Slovenia and involve 10 Slovenian organizations and at least 10 European organizations in this project. Further on the project goals is to create long term partnerships between these organizations and to bridge the gap between international volunteer and Slovenians NGOs. Last but not least, we want to focus on stimulating the creativity and entrepreneurship of young people, by offering them the opportunity to start up this new project and be engaged in starting up new initiatives which enhances their entrepreneurial skills and experience. “Global Volunteer” aims to increase the number of volunteering opportunities for international youths, in Slovenia. The main objectives of the project being to: - Increase the awareness of international volunteering programs (EVS, exchange, Erasmus, etc.) and the benefits they bring to Slovenian organizations (NGOs, Youth Clubs, Youth organizations). - Stimulate awareness and reflection on differences and similarities in values between different cultures, as a starting point for sharing good case practices and project ideas. - Stimulating young people creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The volunteers will be working in the head office of AIESEC in Slovenia along with full-time employees and volunteers of AIESEC in Slovenia and also working directly with 3 AIESEC local committees. The service will take place from the 1st of Jan/2015 to the 31st of July/2015.
